I'm bummed that there's no July 4th Steam sale this year.

Steam's Summer Sale is a go. Starts today, ends July 22

and we also have this, Bioware's new F2P MMORPG: http://ultimaforever.com/

with a staggering amount of classes to chose from.....wait, sorry......its only 2: Fighter or Mage. And instead of Lord British, we now have Lady British

What a horrible waste of the Ultima IP.

Yay for the Steam sale.

didn't buy a thing during the Steam Sale. Thought about Crusader Kings 2 but passed. Other than that, just wasn't interested in what they had.

Gamersgate is having a sale on Paradox games all week, so I might have another chance to get CK 2 cheap.

As a Mac, not much I can buy anyways

Bored of the current crop of Xbox games. Battlefield and NHL 12 are fun for awhile, but have gotten stale, even with friends. Waiting for the fall games.

Assassins Creed 3 looks like a must buy so far. Borderlands 2, Halo 4, Grand Theft Auto 5, Laura Croft, Watch Dogs, Far Cry 3, few others i can't think of are all on my radar... need to see more to determine whether or not i'll get.

Oh well, back to EHM...

Just finished Dawnguard. Don't know what constitutes "worth the price" for a game as big as Skyrim, but I liked it. Some of the new locations were pretty cool, it wasn't super long but the quests felt... important, I suppose. And some of the unique weapons were pretty awesome.

Haven't tried it as a vampire yet though.

Then of course F2P turns into people whining that they can't afford the premium things other people have and people still whine.

started up a new franchise (Nationals) on MLB 12 The Show for Vita

Beat the Cubs 5 - 2 in the first game

Strasburg got the win. Went 6 innings with 0 runs, 0 hits, 7 Ks and 3 BBs

Harper went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 RBIs and 1 run scored

Relief pitcher gave up the 2 runs, the guy I sent in to pinch hit for him hit a HR on the first swing.

Storen ended up with the save. Ended up with 2 errors in the game, one by the 2b, the other the 1b

My own experience with mmos that go f2p is that it sucks unless you pay for a monthly subscription.

Nickel and diming, closed regions, closed dungeons or raids, and tons of micro transactions to pay for the smallest stuff ... It's much more cost effective to pay the subscription than to try and really get into a f2p game and stick with it.

F2p is a misnomer because what the companies are really doing is making the game miserable unless you pay the subscription price. It's an open-ended demo with locked doors everywhere.

Subscribe and the doors all open. Well, most of them... Which is why subscribers get irritated when their games go f2p.

Game price + the cost for six months ($75) is the better value than f2p, the way companies mean f2p.

and F2P allows them to inflate the numbers playing.

Rifftrax (former MST3K guys) are doing one of those live shows broadcast to movie theaters, of which the main feature is Manos, The Hands of Fate. I forgot the date but it's middle of the month, and ought to be hilarious.

And Laich is one point lower than Backstrom.

No surprise. Their ratings for non-star players are always light years off

Backstrom is 8 points lower then Ovechkin, even though he's just as good?...I understand not giving Holtby a high rating because he's still unproven, but a 73? He went toe-to-toe with Thomas and Lundqvist in the playoffs.

EA fails every year with ratings.
