Thanks to the "universal cool downs", biotics weren't as fun as they were in ME1. Part of the joy in ME1 was seeing how far you could lift and throw a guy from a tall moutain/cliff

That and singularity being nerfed to high hell (although they made up for it by giving you the Blackstorm). Warp was pretty invaluable though given how many enemies now used barriers.

Man... i don't know if i can do this...
There are so many Uncharted Planet side missions.
I've finished most of the Citadel side missions, and after that there are only a few side missions on major planets, and then like 30 on Uncharted... not sure i want to do them or not.

SSX doesn't look to bad. Almost busted out the 64 for 1080 after seeing it on tv!

Are you playing on the PC? If you don't want to go through everything again you can download saved games

http://www.masseffectsaves.com/
http://www.masseffect2saves.com/

Can then use the save game editor to rename the character

http://www.masseffectsaves.com/tools.php

Edit: looks there's a way to do it on the 360: http://www.masseffectsaves.com/xbox.php

Dear Esther is really something. Pricey given you'll get like 2 hours out of it, and not a game per se, but quite an experience.

I take it you "played" it.

Worth the $10? My immediate thought is that it is. $10 is the cost of a movie ticket which is about 2 hours of entertainment.

Worth it in the sense that I think it's worth supporting the developer and getting more stuff like that made. Easily, IMO. Don't know if I think the experience itself is worth $10 (probably, because yeah, think of it more as a short film than a game or whatever) but $10 isn't a big deal to me in this context regardless.

EDIT: Not to mention it is, frankly, beautiful for the most part (visuals, audio, atmosphere etc.)

Hmm... my guess is something was spoiled for you? Game is unsatisfactory? Or the whole DLC dilemma?

Edit: If it's the former, don't say anything in detail. I'd still want to play it and be unsatisfied for myself... or something.

Baldur's Gate coming back? http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012...remake-sequel/

Quote:
A new Baldur’s Gate game? Wuh? That’s the news that greets my eyes when I look at Eurogamer. This is, apparently, coming from former BioWare developer Trent Oster, who worked on the original BG, as well as the first Neverwinter Nights. His new company, Beamdog, is a digital distribution platform, brought to wider attention recently via the release of MDK 2 HD, and this, GameBanshee claims, will be the source of new Forgotten Realms chat-n-chopping. And how do we know any of this is happening? A Baldur’s Gate website.

Dig into the site’s source code and you’ll see:

< -- February 28, 2012 -->
< -- Shadowy Figure- Raise Dead : Infinity Engine -->

< -- For years, I clung to the memory of it. Then the memory of the memory. -->

< -- And then... it returned. Better than it was before. -->

< -- Pore over the tapestries and works of art hanging from our walls if you wish, Child of Bhaal... perhaps you will find a clue. But patience, ah... patience would reveal it all. -->

Hopefully it is nothing close to using 4th edition Forgotten Realms as they f'ing butchered that campaign setting so bad. Unsurprisingly considering the 4th edition itself was so bungled.

D'oh, Baldur's Gate vid isn't legit, but the game/news is. Speculation is that it might be a remake, not a new entry

Anyone in on the Sins Of A Solar Empire Rebellion beta (you can get in if you per-order)? I just bought the Sins Trinity edition and per-ordered Rebellion (you get 10 bucks off if you own Sins)

I just downloaded it but probably won't end up playing the beta (no time).

Tried out Rebellion. Didn't get into most of the feature (corvettes, capturing enemy ships, etc.) but did enough to get the Loyalist titan. Didn't do much with it but fun to play around with.

Visuals are improved slightly (think it's just a better lighting system but not sure), performance is improved marginally (still a 32-bit game at its core though and still needs more RAM than it can take). Had a minidump when exiting but otherwise seemed stable.
