Jeff Taffe Recalled

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=382262

Jeff Taffe recalled I'm assuming for the game in LA tonight or for the weekend. Not the dude I'd call up, but hopefully he's good on 3rd or 4th line duties.

He's playing the top line with Koivu and Heatley.

Man, we've scraped the bottom of the barrel straight through to the dirt the barrel was sitting on. Now we're just digging a hole.

Somebody jokingly suggested offering Mittens a job earlier today. The more I think about how injured we are, the less of a joke I consider the idea of offering Mittens a job. How sad is that?

Dude has 21 career NHL goals and 23 assists. %^$& All Star.

2nd best player ever from Hastings.

Trivia: Who's the best ever from Hastings?

Hint: He'd be more to Heater's liking.

I grew up playing against Taffe. It's funny that my group had a player that was better than him but Taffe took it a bit farther to get to the AHL and sporadically in the NHL. I wish he was an NHL regular like Cullen but at least he got there.

I can't believe Taffe is Gretzky's nephew in law though. I'm sure he won't really be hurting for money any time soon if janet has her niece in the dollars.

Taffe actually looked pretty good, a lot better than most AHL callups.

The internet tells me that he's from Duluth.

In fact, according to my sources, Taffe and Stepan are the only NHL players born in Hastings.

Pretty sure he played for Hastings. Went to a few of his clinics back in the day.

I'm just looking at birthplace. Besides, someone in the other thread said we can't claim Oshie because he was born in Washington.

Not so fast Mr Bookman. I might have to side with the good Dr. and say Stephan as well.. I've got the Center Ice package at home, and have tuned into a few Ranger games and to watch my fav Wild player of all time M. Gaborik and i've gotta tell ya, the Stephan kid can play.. got eyes in the back of his head. A couple years back at the WJT he may have been the best kid on the ice..I never watched much of Talafous, but looked up his stats..Other than a couple years doesn't look that great to me..Don't quote me but i think Stephan had 50 plus points 1st year in the league last year. My bet is he'll be at least a 50-60 points guy per year for quite some time.

You mean Stepan? He had 21 goals last year as a rookie and you are right, he was arguably the best player on our nat team U-21 in '10. I hope he goes on the have 50+ goal seasons in the near future playing with Gabby.

You know that they told him to keep ready in case of another call up....he played well, and the first hint of a need at forward and he'll be back pretty quick.

I'm pretty amazed how smoothly he fit into that top line. He played himself into the top of the Call-up queue.

He should be the #1 option if anyone gets hurt. Happy to have Clutterbuck back though.
