Brett Connolly is going to be loaned to Team Canada for the World Jr Tournament, Steve Yzerman said, heads to Calgary on Saturday

Whoa, there goes another roster player. I think it will be good for Connolly if he can take something from it and return to us a little better.

I don't mind Connolly playing in the WJC.

But from what I've seen the kid is ready.

I think he'd destroy the AHL. He has some learning to do of course, but I think he's NHL ready. I had no idea he was as fast as he is, couple times he turned the NYR D into pylons. He's remarkably good on the wall winning pucks too, considering he's not remotely filled out yet, and his hockey IQ is very good as well. That pass to Shannon across the net mouth was world class(too bad Shannon had to take 3days to settle the puck).
