Hoping that Armstrong plays better than he did in the first few games this season pre-injury. He was shaky at best, and if I remember correctly got no points.

He was really starting to regain his form just before his injury

Ottawa allows as many goals in the 3rd, as they score.

It won't be another blowout, as you said.

A Leafs win would be icing on the cake that was seeing the Habs deal a serviceable defenseman to acquire Kaberle who is a shade of the shade of his former self.

Gauthier should also deal two 1sts for McCabe and hope to re-kindle the old-time magic...

Did not know that you could trade assets for a UFA. But I guess with Gauthier everything is possible

If Reimer doesn't win I have a feeling people around here will be pissed that Gus didn't start. Wouldn't that be a funny turn of events

Yeah I knew McCabe was UFA, I was just exaggerating the seeming incompetence of his trade/signing ability.

There has not been a single contract move, trade or signing Gauthier has done this year that isn't absolutely insane.

Wisniewski, gone.
Markov, signed.
Gomez, still in the NHL...
Spacek for Kaberle??

I mean, the discussions in Montreal have all been about lacking defensemen. IMO they just got even worse (defensively) to add an old tire (former) PP QB defenseman. Kaberle was useless at the end with the Leafs, which everyone sloughed off as him being fed up with the media and constant trade rumours. He was useless in Boston, sloughed off as him just being depth on a super amazing team full of super amazing superstars, he was useless in Carolina and yet somehow, Gauthier went after him anyways...

If Burke was dealing Spacek for Kaberle, he'd have gotten their top prospect along with it.

/

Oh well. Let's keep the GDT on track...

Long night for the Leafs

Ovie has broken out of his slump and Hunter will have his team taking the body at every opportunity. The left side of our defence is small and non physical and can be exploited. The key is too keep the puck in the Leaf zone and they will cough up the puck on a regular basis. Long night unless our Goaltender stands on his head.

4-2 Leafs

Ovechkin scores the first 2 goals of the game before Leafs come back with 4 straight including Kessel hat trick winner in overtime. Book it mother****er.
