Top Pairing in Minnesota, probably a #3 on a deep team. Will be worth his weight in gold in the playoffs in terms of matching up though.

What part of the word "ceiling" don't you people understand?

there are definite semantic differences afoot. Just as with BPA "ceiling" is so subjective it's meaningless. Scandella? His ceiling as it pertains to hockey is he could eventually be regarded as the best defenseman to ever play the game up until the point of his retirement.

I don't know, but his name always remind me of "Umbrella", and I wanted to share it with you.

Either way, I think he is very Kimmo Timonen-like player. Perhaps could be a little more physical. I think that's his realistic ceiling, too, which is not bad at all.

I think he could be a top pairing defenseman. Don't think he'll become a franchise defenseman but still a good top pairing defenseman. He's got mobility, HUGE reach, good stickhandling and puck skills, defensive play and likes to jump into the rush and act as an offensive option

My opinion hasn't really changed from the off-season. He showed last year that he could be solid in all areas, and this year he's doing it more consistently but still not at the ideal level. Because he's not dynamic in any way I don't think he's got the ceiling of an elite d-man league-wide but he's certainly got the tools to be an effective top-pairing d-man in this league(ideally a #2/3). Mental game has improved tremendously from last season, no reckless jumps into the rush or emotions from a mistake derailing his game. Still has a ways to go but he's shown significant improvement every year and at 21 its unlikely he's a finished product.
