I don't think the penalty against the Nets would be not getting Dwight Howard. They'd probably just have to forfeit a pick and some cash. Only issue with that is that the pick could be used in a Howard trade, but they could just offer Marshon Brooks instead.
how can you let him go to the nets, just after you veto a fair (by all intentions) trade?
i dont think Howard will ever be a Net after this.

Around the Horn and PTI just made some good points about it.
Stern has lost all of his credibility with the CP3 trade, so if he rejects a Howard to the Nets trade, he's effectively resigning as commissioner because the players union will have his head.
I've said it before but I'm sticking with the Nets when they move to Brooklyn.
As am I, under the condition that they do not rename themselves the New Yorkers. I will become a Grizzlies fan if they change their name to something that stupid.
Also, my status as an NBA fan is on life support. If this whole mentality of forming a three superstar team persists, I'm going to give up on the sport permanently.
Anyone also read that the Magic VP has gone and filed tampering Charges against the NETS, claiming that their Management met with Dwight Howard?
There is no proof after all but let's delay the inevitable, huh "Magic VP"?
Oh and the Magic VP claims that Howard had a meeting with Prokhorov and Billy King....Nevermind the FACT that Proky is currently in Russia(and has been for some time).

Open and shut case.
Dwight Howard denies a meeting as well, and the Magic said they won't be filing tampering charges.
holy crap has the NBA been a cluster **** the last few days.
-The Paul trade.
-Fantasizing about whether or not LA would then flip Bynum to get Howard
-The rejection of the Paul trade
-Everything that has come out about that rejection since
-Chandler to the Knicks, combined with all of the scenarios that resulted (trade Amare for Paul, amnesty or trade Billups, etc).
-Dwight Howard about to demand a trade to NJ
-Hold up, possible tampering meeting... or was there?
-People acknowledging Eddy Curry may have once played basketball
-Brandon Roy retiring
-Stars/great players of my youth being bought out/amnesty choices today (Rip Hamilton, Gilbert Arenas, Vince Carter)
-Stopping and thinking that Paul is still on NO, Howard on Orlando, Nene still a free agent, and so many more things that have YET to happen.
