Waiving Boyes would be a ridiculous move. He was one of our best forwards pre-injury. I agree that if Kassian keeps this up you can't take him out of the lineup but not at Boyes' expense. You want to explore trades, sure, but you can't waive him.

+1 Waiving him would be stupid, he was playing well. Plus, Boyes could easily gather a 2nd or 3rd round pick from a contending team in a very deep draft if we wanted to explore that option.

Stafford's being overly abused on the board (not surprising). Anyway, you only have to reach that decision if everyone is healthy, which doesn't seem likely any time soon.

I love when I see this.
The depth of this draft is about the same as last year's IMO, yet a 2nd or a 3rd in that draft was seen as useless to most.

Why sit Stafford when he's finally potted one? This is usually where he goes on a five-goals-in-six-games type of streak.

Is it fair to say there's more talent in the first?

* I go off of the Prospects section for all my draft opinions.

Yes, there is more high-end talent this year.
Unfortunately for us, most of them are defensemen.

Nevermind that the Sabres' cap would be completely wasted paying even half of Boyes' salary through waivers. Surely they could get a 3rd if they were set on moving him.

If he doesn't score tonight can we sit him?

if we can get a 2nd for him we should move him immediately but I highly doubt we could.

I've bashed Nancy enough, but he played well against Philly IMHO.

He drove the net all night, mixed it up with Flyer D behind the net. He could've scored 3-4 goals with the chances he got. Really thought he would pick up career goal 100 in the last minute of regulation, he was buzzing.

Hopefully with the monkey off his back he'll start potting more of those chances.

Calling it, Staff gets #100 tonight.

Stafford had some of the best contain and create for any forward the other night. Please excuse the lingo, my expertise with hockey is about as successful as a stick clearing off a monte carlo. I do have a long list of autographs from the 90's.

I was thinking closer to the deadline. Particularly if someones winger is injured.

Sabres go down quick, people whine to fire ruff, sabres come back late and win, people plan the parade

Since I was forced to pick up (and start) Clemmensen in my Yahoo Fantasy League........

Sabres 8, Panthers 2

Stafford hits for hat tricks 3 of the next four games, then returns to his zen like hot yoga self, and runs off 9 straight without a goal.

Over under on Miller's helmet off/headshots tonight?

I wonder if any current sabres grew up having a certain players autograph? That might not be a bad video bit to do for the christmas holiday.

I predict the opposite. Sabres go up big early. Lose the lead and then surrender the go ahead goal with about 4 minutes to go in the 3rd. Panthers win 4-3 and everyone on here(myself included) will want Ruff fired.

Not as bad as Roy. I don't think I've seen more ridiculous stuff then what some people are saying about Roy. Like hes causing other player's struggles, and that he should be on the 4th line. Seriously insane.
