I would say that is a win for us. Kaberle is what he is at this point. Soft, slow and past his time. Cant wait to face him in the playoffs.
Not sure how we benefit exactly... He wasn't a fit for us here and Rutherford doesn't know how to manage his assets at ALL. But it doesn't really affect the Bruins much, does it?
You see, the thing about me is that I still believe that there is a $4M hockey player in Kaberle. He just hasn't fit in a new place like yet like he did in Toronto. I think that place is going to be Montreal and that his salary is going to be the least of their concerns.
I hear ya, in Boston he fell to the 5/6th slot as a result of very solid depth which this team didn't have to have him log too many minutes and have other teams constantly expose him.
If the Habs make the playoffs, I can guarantee ya what each coach facing them will tell his troops to do when he's on the ice and it all involves dumping the puck into his corner and hammering him.
At the beginning of the year i didn't think they'd make it. Don't think so now either. But Have a feeling Toronto/Ottawa and Montreal will be fighting for that final 8th seed. I think I'd like to see toronto but think its gonna be ottawa. Toronto's been crapped on for too long not to get a sniff I think... Plus whether they are or not they are considered the spokes team for Canadian Hockey. Vancouver never was even though some B.C.ites and the media tried to spin it that way.
Imagine being traded with a 2nd rounder for "future considerations".
The only rumor that came out was kaberle and a 2nd for brassard. I think the 2nd rounder is overblown. Carolina was looking for a piece up front and were willing to pay for young players with upside like brassard but getting another old d didnt do much for them long term so they dropped the 2nd.
I have no issue with kaberle making 4 mil. Of course I'm assuming he'll be decent.
