Yeah, dead serious. All that smiling, whooping and waving was a sure sign of disgust.

C'mon, I know this is HF boards, but of course I wasn't serious. Kaberle was as happy as a 10-year-old on Christmas morning, just like everyone else. I know that to be a Habs fan is to be deluded, but that's pushing it even for them.

Guess Chia made another good move by NOT signing Kabe's in the offseason.

Pretty sure it went Captain -> Alternates -> Timmy -> ascending order by jersey number.

Anyway, yeah, he was visibly disgusted:

Great pics, thanks, but no, the order is loosely by tenure (i.e. longtime veterans down to rookies. That's why Seguin was last amongst the regulars).

Price and Subban will make about 8m total leaving the Habs with about 12m to sign 9 players. If the cap stays at 64M.

Gomez 7.35m 2 years.
Cammy 6m 2 years
Pleks 5m 4years
Gionta 5m 2yrs
Cole 4m 3yrs
Patches 1.6 1yrs
desharnais 850k 1 yrs

Markov 5.75m 2yrs
Kaberle 4.25m 2yrs
Weber 850k 1yrs

Budaj 1.1m 1 yrs.

LOL!!!!

Two things.

1. Are you serious?

2. Why are you here?

Yeah he deserves a lot of credit for that. He seems to have been pretty biased towards Kaberle for a long time and gave up a lot to get him as a rental, but he made the right decision. Corvo has his shortcomings from time-to-time but low risk since just a 1-year contract.

Price and Subban will obviously take deep hometown discounts for the privilege of donning les bleu, blanc et rouge.

Yes, that was sarcasm.

Wow. So no picks were involved? For that terrible contract, Montreal should have demanded at least a 3rd or 4th to go with Kaberle.

Not that I'm complaining, but what a stupid move.

Sure, but when you are in a hockey hotbed like Montreal, he has to do something to try to save the season and his butt..

I don't think they have the resources to make giant moves without sacrificing the things which make them better down the road (Subban, Eller, Price)

That said, Kaberle is a stop gap and a gamble. Best case he stabilizes their PP for them and gives their speedy forwards that "one off outlet pass" which lets them turn back up ice - comes with cup ring and playoff EXP.

Worst case he costs 6.7? percent of their overall cap. Its not like Montreal is going to lose money with the droves of fans they have.

Also fits in with the cultural difference of Montreal and can reveal some of the bruins secrets.

I am not saying that we should have resigned him, but he could help them more than most are giving him credit for.

Oh, that and he does'nt have a Prayer trying to clean Lucic out of the crease

Make Hay.

Did you forget that that rental was part of what won the cup?

Was it a lot to give up from the B's point of view? Yes

Would I do it again for the same exact result? YES!
