It is either the end of the line for Kaberle or a rebirth in Montreal.

Gomez, not withstanding, over the years the Canadiens have had success with players rejuvenating their career after pulling on the old Habs' jersey.

On multiple viewings now, he might say "Here you go ENJOY IT"

I always thought it was "Here you go Johnny"

Either way, I am sour

Pierre Gauthier keeps digging his hole deeper and deeper.

Yep, it was Captain, A's, goalie/MVP, then players by tenure in the league. Which is roughly how other teams have been doing it lately.

Whatever anyone feels about Kaberle, according to every account I heard he was a good teammate and well-liked on the Bruins. All of the guys on that team have a special bond, and it should last the rest of their lives.

18% of Montreal's salary cap is taken up by Scott Gomez and Tomas Kaberle right now.

To put that in perspective, the Lucic-Krejci-Horton line makes up 19.5% of Boston's salary cap.

I'd hate to be a Montreal fan right about now.

The Canadiens are just desperate right now and Gauthier, in trying to save his neck, has basically killed them long term with regards to the salary cap. Another long term steep cost contract on team that is mediocre at best? I could see doing this if you think Kabby is a piece that will get you a very good shot at a cup. This makes no sense what so ever. From a B's perspective I like it

Kaberle is going to give lessons to PK Subban on being softer, in exchange for diving lessons.

I never liked the guys game that much. He's a borderline NHL player these days so it's great he's on MTL now and you just know the B's are going to target him on the forecheck and he's going to give up 5+ quality chances on the back of a cough up per game.

He really seems like a nice person so it's too bad on that angle; but otherwise, when you can honestly say MTL adding a player of his caliber helps everyone else but them more than themselves, that's a hell of a trade for the conference!

The thing I love the most is that it's two more yeas at 4.25m
I dunno is it just me or does montreal absorb these horrible contracts and then can never dump them.
This plus new division = no playoffs for Montreal.
Gomez, Kaberle, Cole - 15+ Mill. LOL

He doesn't play a "tough" game, but he's no softie. He can take a hit and keep on keepin' on. Smart player. I could see him doing well up there with the weirdos, unfortunately...

Cannot wait for him to easily cough the puck up and give up scoring chances. And they are all like "he will help us with our PP", we shall see hahah

I like Kaberle but this is just nuts by Montreal. I thought this was a joke- and started thinking maybe the dislike of Boston had Gauthier not watching any of the Stanley Cup Bruins games or the Bruins down the stretch- otherwise, how could he think this is a good idea.
