Kaberle's only problem on the PP is the fact he NEVER SHOOTS THE PUCK.

WIDE OPEN SHOT...WIND UP....pass.

repeat ad nauseum.

I wish the Avs would make a shrewd move and get a kid like Bryan Bickell out of Chicago. He seems to have fallen out of favor with that team but from what I saw from him last year, I think he'd be a real solid addition for this club.

Ideally, if he could be had for a mid-pick or prospect that would be great, we could then waive one of the guys from the "dead-weight club". (Porter, Hunwick and to a lesser extent Yip)

It's not just on the PP, and he has become pretty bad defensively.

Apparently one of the issues is that Bickell has success when he is playing physical, however he prefers to play a finesse game. This is one of the reasons he's fallen out of favour as of late. I'd be willing to gamble on him, but if he doesn't take it as a wake up call I think he'll become equally out of favour here.

When Wilson returns, and if the plan is to keep Elliott up for the whole year, how about this?

To Tampa
Ryan O'Byrne

To Colorado
Teddy Purcell

I would expect Elliot to get sent down today. He was getting abused in every one-on-one situation. He has been looking shell shocked for the last four games or so.

We don't have a game for a while. I suspect that Staz and Wilson will be back with Elliot and Malone back down.

I agree that he needs more time in the A. I'm not sure what management is thinking though.

Nope. Won't happen, not unless you do Stevie Y a solid and take Ohlund's anchor of a contract off his hands.

Obviously we shouldn't do that. My thought was a 2nd/3rd pairing tweener for a 2nd/3rd line tweener. Reading the Tampa board, they want a guy like O'Byrne.

OEL isn't going anywhere. And yes we would do it without a doubt.

*shrug* That trade would have to be followed up with us packaging Quincey with some prospects for a good top 6er since we'd be getting a lot worse up front for OEL.

Anyone see the 2nd intermission of the Sharks-Hawks game with Gary Suter speaking?

He said he'd like to see the Sharks sign his nephew Ryan this summer when he is a UFA.

Speculation, but he still made it sound like Ryan will be going the UFA route or is planning on that as of now.

Yeah i heard that too, i mean why wouldnt he? Most teams that can afford it and are willing to spend the money are gonna pursue him hardcore. id love to have that guy here man. Plus i totally forgot Suter played for the sharks and they showed those highlights with him and Ricci and was taken back. What a problem they were back in the day, ugh.

I'd really love to get him, but honestly I can't see him leaving Nashville unless his latest incident with the coaching staff has been more serious than most think

This was like a week ago. They lost several in a row and trotz was shuffling the pairs alot and then as you can read Suter said things. There is a tread on the Nashville boards related to it. Basiclly they all think its nothing, but if his uncle has any inside info, his comment could give more credibility to Suter being unhappy in Nashville

Also, why would he sign here over a dozen better(that have enough money) teams. Unless we're given 11 million a season.

I really, really hope that we find a way to make ourselves look more attractive over the offseason or something happens in our favor to allow for him to come to Colorado.

But it's beginning to look less and less likely we will be able to land him or Parise if they go to FA simply because of Management.

I have to wonder though, if we were on the playoff bubble, made it as 8th seed and they both went to FA if Stastny/Johnson might be able to use some Sakic-esque pull on them to bring them to the team.

I agree that overpayment is the only way a good FA will come to Denver. The Organization, FO and coaching staff looks terrible to outsiders and I can't see any top FA like Parise or Suter thinking that the Avs is a good destination for a prime portion of their career for winning.

Dennis Wideman is who I hope Colorado gets because there's no way in hell Zach Parise or Ryan Suter will come play for this horrible team. I know I wouldn't if I were them.

Speaking of guys who can put up points but get exposed horrifically when used as top pairing defensemen...

He is an excellent power play QB, though. Personally I'm hoping he realizes that he's found a home in Washington and takes a pay cut to stay... but unless Green is moved that's not happening.
