Yep. He's getting to the point where I'm game to keep him over a few of the others....

It should be Whitmore if they dip down. Marcus is still too raw.

I'm assuming Hecht has a broken foot. Ruff didn't sound too optimistic. And he basically said Tropp was concussed. Lovely news all around...

I saw he was most people's choice as well, is he waiver exempt? Also the reason I ask is the energy sparks provided by these kids sure has done alot, and I didn't know if Ruff maybe just might want to follow the hot trend right now.

Injury recalls don't have to clear waivers. Whitmore's been a good soldier for them and if they need another guy, he's scoring and playing well for the Amerks. He's the guy who deserves it.

I actually did not know that. Makes sense then.

Exempt from re-entry waivers, which is all that matters.
I don't see a reason to call him up though.

Is it bad that I'm disappointed that Ruff didn't say anything about a Gragnani injury?

Good

Regehr has been consistently good.
miller time
ellis clogged the middle of the ice.
Great game from mcnabb.
Kassian turned it up in the 3rd period.

Roy

bring on the rangers.

Bad

kaleta normally plays hard against the rangers.

Ugly

For what it's worth, nothing in the Sabres.com recap on Hecht, either.

Before today I want to say we were at 90 man games. Something around there, it was in the game sheets at guest services at the game. As for where that ranks, I know Toronto was at 106, not sure otherwise.

Love the thread title.

Starring.....
Darcy Regier as Major Frank Burns
Lindy Ruff as Col. Sherman Potter (look at me when I talk to you Vanek)
Tyler Ennis as Radar O'Reilly (Gerbe had the role, but is now in a unit bed)
Derek Roy as Corporal Klinger (come on, we know he cross dresses)
Jason Pominville as Hawkeye Pierce (the only guy who shows up somewhat regular)
Thomas Vanek as Captain MacIntyre (no one else wanted the role)

Anyone else want to fill in some roles ?

I only saw the last 34min of regulation and the OT.

Good:
-A WIN.
-FLA's forecheck to start the 3rd.
-Miller unspectacularly solid.
-McNabb. I've been watching him whenever I can since his callup. Glad he was singled out by Ruff.
-FLA's PK after the hook on Erhoff.
-Pomms burying the winner.
-Seeing Ellis and McNabb on the PK, and I wasn't panicked.
-I had the FS Panthers broadcast. In the 3rd, late, when Dineen took the timeout, they showed that FLA has outscored the opposition 20-9 this year in the last 5 min of the 3rd pd. That's impressive. And Un-Sabre-like.

Weak:
-Holding call on Hecht leading to 5-on-3. I know it had to be called, but if Hecht had his hand on him for more than a half-second, I'd be shocked.
-Ennis on the puck in the neutral zone. Lost quite a few, or failed to recover loose pucks he could have won.

Bad:
-The shot Erhoff took to the face.
-Missed the Tropp injury. Assume it was 1st period.
-Hecht injured again?? Didn't see the play.
-Lack of shots on the Sabre PP. I thought the puck movement was decent. FLA has a decent kill, from what I saw.
-A couple Leo pinches had me holding my breath. Especially with McNabb as the lone guy back for a couple odd-man runshes.

Good

Everyone thinks he played great but I didn't really notice McNabb other than the soccer play and his dive-poke-penalty. I guess thats why? Pretty solid game I guess.

Leo has to be the least appreciated Dman we have. The guy just knows how to play, and seems to step it up even more when he's working with Regehr.

Pretty slick passing to spring Roy, Pominville, and nearly McNabb.

Bad

Ehrhoff still 0-for-the-season on point shots.
Total possession incompetence in 3rd
Gragnani
Yet more injuries

We were terrible offensively, but it was good to see us play a strong defensive game. Miller was good, looked a little shaky sometimes but stopped the puck. McNabb was good, Lukey and Kass were not great, Vanek was terrible. Win's a win.

And yeah, since SoFFacet mentioned Leo, the guy is a stud for us. Doing it all over the ice, he's probably been the most consistent Sabre all over the ice, guy gets no love because he doesn't get noticed, but he does his job, and he does it well.

Add to the ugly.

Kulikov breaking our forwards. Roy last year, Tropp this year.

Holy **** I didn't even realize it. I know we were down 2 forwards, but for a forward to lead the team...

Helps when you don't have to hide a D-man with the way McNabb was playing (although Grags probably should have been hid...). Evens out the minutes on the blue line.

But Roy earned those minutes tonight. He was fantastic. Now the question is whether he will go back into invisible mode or sustain the 2-way play he had today.
