I hope this extended look that Butler is getting is so that they can make a final decision on him before waiving him. Because from a lot of our standpoints, he's played like **** and hasn't done anything to merit any playing time...let alone a spot on the top line.

It's not even that we're Filatov apologists. I just can't seem to make sense of how this is actually working. Sure Filatov needs to produce some points to justify staying in the lineup, but I can't imagine how he's going to score from press box.

If I were him, I'd be ****ing puzzled too. Especially when I see that the guy I'm competing with for playing time has done **** all lately.

I don't think so, I'm not sure what they're doing with him. He gets one or two games and then he's benched because he's not producing? I get that he's not a true rookie anymore but I don't count his time in Columbus personally, and they would give a rookie or a guy like Butler far more time to figure out how to play in the NHL.

Anyone who think butler Is getting traded or waived is delusional. Murray just went and signed this guy out of college. He is gonna be more patient with him than say a guy like filatov.

Its hard to find place on next year lineup even for guys like Condra and Greening. And they are better players than Butler. Ottawa needs to trade some guys with one-way contracts, or they stuck with them in next year. Filatov situation is just a beginning.

Are you Sedin down? Good. This is about to get dirty.

We know who the Canucks are. We know their game style: they Rome around the offensive zone, Burrows under your skin and Sweatt out a full 60 minutes. Their record shows that it's been too Luongo since they lost -- nine days ago. So let's get Weise to their gameplan and cut them down. Contrary to popular belief, not everybody loves Raymond.

This game's gotta be fast-paced; we can't be slow and mellow like a Hansen song. When it Salo-ver, Ottawa needs a win come Edler high water. Oh, and mandatory pun about Schneider's Ham-huis.

Go Sens Go!

Of course. That is necessary in order to make room the dynamic Bobby Butler.

Woah --- Regin is back! I'm glad.

On the Butler front. I would be fine with him traded/waived. I do understand that maybe he is worth staying -- but we have SO many young players, some will have to leave. And Butler is (in my mind) one of those players that would be on the chopping block.

And I don't get the whole waiving/back to bingo thing, but doesn't Butler have to be waived to go back to Bingo? And Filatov doesn't? So wouldn't it be better to waive Butler, and send Filatov to AHL and then keep who we have here.

Regin Foligno Alfie
Daug Smith Condra
Greening Winchester Neil

Butler's so dynamic he occupies the top 6 without actually playing on it.

Same. Ever since Da Costa's play dropped off, we've lacked that 2nd line presence. I'm sure Regin (and especially Carkner) will be ready to go after so much time off.

I get why the Paulrus is playing Bobby Butler.

Does nobody remember the end of last year when Butler was one of the few offensive weapons on this team?

The Paulrus wants him to be that again, and he's shown he has the capability.

Butler has a track record, which on HF means he is old and washed up.

But look at Filatov's ceiling guys! He is top 6 guaranteed!
