PRV is 10X the player as Hordichuck. Hordichcuk is playing not beacause he is better at hockey than PRV, but because he fights. I dont see the correlation between fighting and winning hockey games. It doesnt exist. Fighting is a sideshow and by playing Hordichuck over PRV it makes the Oilers less likely to win.
If Magnus was contributing anything, I would tend to agree but last game the Flames leaned on the Oilers and there was not much response.

IMHO, Hordichuk has been way more effective than Paajarvi as of late, hence why he is in.
A win tonight would go along way towards us putting on a little streak here to shake off the terrible play the last week or so. One thing Ive learned is this team is unpredictable! So Ill predict a 3-2 OT win!
"Edmonton is a team that's been getting first overall picks year after year and claiming they are in this rebuilding phase, how many years has it been since they claimed that? And yet, they still find themselves in the same place wandering in the desert year after year." - Jay Feaster
This really depends on which type of Oilers team we see tonight, this team has an awful track record when it comes to back-to-back games, 4-1 Flames, i predict we come out flat - Khabibulin is the only one that shows up for this game.

Sorry, just had to do it.
That makes me mad just because he overexaggerates the oilers rebuild. They've had 2 straight first overall picks, so I guess the "year after year" part is partly correct, but it is really only one year after another year. As well, the Oilers have only been claiming to be "rebuilding" for the past 2 years, it started when we got that first overall pick. In terms of wandering the desert, the past two years we have been crap, but before that we were exactly where his flames were, borderline playoff team.
So please Oilers, beat the crap out of the flames tonight to show Feaster what "wandering in the desert" really is

The Flames usually play us tough and try to intimidate.
Magnus when played physical tends to completely disappear and shy away from it.
Besides Magnus was playing on the 4th line. Which player do you think is more suited for the 4th line?
I have been very pleased with Hordichuk this season and he should play more IMO. Magnus could use a stint in OKC pretty badly to get his mojo back. Send him down have him play lots of minutes on the 1st line and 1st PP unit. It will do wonders for his confidence and his overall game. Then when he comes back you would not need to worry (about him fighting with Hordi for a spot in the line up) because he will be playing higher in the line up than the 4th line.

As for physicality, no contest - Hordi hands down obviously.
As for production - well, Paajarvi has 3 points in over 300 minutes of ice time. Hordichuk only has 1 point, but he has only gotten 36 minutes of ice time this year. So he actually IS producing points at a better clip.
I think tonight's the night we finally break this losing streak against the Flames. The Oilers PP will hopefully make some adjustments and the kids (Gagner's still a kid, right) will llght em up.
