Who would you rather see traded?

Dubi or Anisimov? Please take their careers to date and future potential, not just this season.

P.S. When will I be able to make polls? I'm not allowed yet, right?

I'm sure no one will be shocked to hear that my choice would be Dubi to be traded.

Dubi is more physical and plays a better grinding game. AA has more offensive skill, is a better defensive player, has more untapped upside, has a better contract (at the end of which he is still an RFA) and has a higher hockey IQ.

Easy choice.

Good point. Say as part of a package for Bobby Ryan.

I'd rather trade Dubinsky. It has nothing to do with this year's #'s, but Dubinsky in my eyes is a player along the lines of Ryan Callahan, but I've always thought Cally is better and I still do, regardless of #'s. Anisimov is a player of a different mold. A little less likely to grind? Absolutely. Not as physically tough? You're right. But, a player who, if he can pull it all together, has a good potential upside offensively. A player who even if he doesn't ever realize his full potential, who will be just as good offensively or better than Dubi anyways. Add to that his defensive game and how responsible he is and he's a no brainer.

Both have value, so no moving just for shake-up change of pace.

Either should go if enough profit.

Consider AA more gifted.
Prefer a third option, perhaps a Christian Thomas.
But of the two, I'm prefer to move Dugi

Dubinsky is one of our top penalty killers. So this notion that Anisimov is head and shoulders above Dubinsky defensively is false.

Anisimov is also not better then Dubinsky offensively, either.

Anisimov is soft. But he has skill.

Id take Dubinsky over Anisimov 10 times out of 10.

But unfortunately contracts are a factor.

mehhh, I'd like to sit on both for much longer honestly.

Anisimov isn't going anywhere. The guy has game and hustle. When his offense is putrid, his back checking and defense is tops for a non-defensive specialist. I really can see him growing into having a couple 30/30 seasons.

Dubi is getting awfully expensive for a checker. We just can't afford a non-point producing winger at his pay scale. I think he'll turn it around for a decent stretch. But I think we all know what Dubi is at this point in his development, a very streaky player in point production, that will give you 65% of the season as a grinding 3rd line guy, 25% of the season as a point producing top 6 winger, and 10% as an elite quality power forward point producer that also sees PK time, and top unit PP time in the same games.

If one has to go, for me it would be B.Dubs. No way I'd say that if you chopped 2m off that contract, but he's definitely too expensive for what he's giving right now.

Depends on what we're getting in return, doesn't it? I'd probably pick Dubinsky in most situations, though.

Maybe its my old age,but why do so many want to trade Dubi? One of the few physical wingers we have who can grind it out and score..I guess slow start =get rid of him..What a joke.

Like others before have mentioned it depends on what we get in return.

In most situations I'd easily trade Dubi first.

This. I'm shocked at the "what have you done for me lately" attitude.

Last season, you couldn't create a trade proposal that didn't involve Artie or Danny G.

I would rather see neither traded.

I think the team is quite good right now.

The ability to play in a specific defensive set with little variability where your defined role is to use raw physical tools like speed and reach to guard the point is very, very different than overall defensive awareness in all game situations. Anisimov is significantly better defensively than Dubinsky.

AA is a better passer, a better stickhandler and has a better shot (although his release time could be improved). Dubi has strength and speed, but lags far behind in skill.

I mean, okay - yeah, he doesn't throw big hits. He doesn't fight. I'll grant you that. But, he is a better defensive player as I said, he doesn't shy away from the front of the net and he is getting better and better playing the boards as he adjusts to playing LW. He is soft in the same way any defensively responsible non-PF top 6 forwards is soft. He's soft like Datsyuk is soft.

I'd take Anisimov over Dubi 9 out of 10 times.

Here we agree.

Again, AA has Dubi in every area except for physicality - and, oh yeah, he's better in all those areas NOW, despite being 2 years younger.

Both have strengths and weaknesses. It comes down to the contract. Based on the contract, Dubi easily.

This one is a tough call for me personally because I have always loved Dubi and what he brings to the table on an overall basis. Over the years, he's been our best forechecker, has been good on faceoffs and has produced. Anni is younger and probably has more upside than Dubi so based on that alone, it would probably make more sense for the team to move Dubi. If that happens, I would hate to see him go.

After Anisimov's embarrassing stunt last game he should be on his way out.

If this thread was created last season, I bet the majority of posters selecting Anisimov would have had a different opinion. Amazing what 20-something games can do to a players value.

I don't view Arty as a better defensive forward than Dubinsky. He doesn't cover as much Ice. He isn't as agile, nor does he protect or carry the puck better than Dubi or win as many 1-on-1 battles.

Kid's going to have concussion issues if he keeps skating with his head down. I don't see him significantly outscoring Dubi either. Couple of points isn't anything when you breakdown their overall game.
