6'3", 200 lbs plays LW or centre, scored over 40 pts in 4 seasons with Colorado, has been injured most of the yr with the NYR. I've seen him fight, former 1st rd pick, he looks like a good skater & we know he has scored in the past consistently. Why is he not the same player I described?
He's been terrible for a couple years now and was to be bought out this summer before the Rags decided to give it another shot (since they can bury him in the minors if needed). Go ask NYR fans about him. He can't skate, score, or fight. He's one of the more useless players around at his price tag, soft and 100% one dimensional.

Now take into account that he's having some serious injury concerns and there is just no reason to even consider this player.

What has he done outside of Colorado? Get injured and do very little. Sounds most pleasing.

Michalek had injury problems too & he has bounced back, I think because Wolski is young he can be good again. But having said that I think Murray makes trades for picks again like he did last yr.

That's short sighted, he is young he has the potential to be good again. If he was doing great he wouldn't be available or extremely expensive. I would take a chance on him to return to his former self once fully healed.

Eww... a Polish hockey player?
(Insert tongue-in-cheek yet still tasteless "training camp = concentration camp" joke, cue Polak Dave's witty response. Hilarity ensues.)

Seriously though, I'd go after Dubinsky (as I mentioned before) on the Rangers before I touched Wolski.

Wolski is close to done as a NHL player. He won't be back in NYR for sure. Think Patrick O'Sullivan.

Anyways, you can get Wolski for free, on a two way deal next year if anyone really wants him. Kuba's actually a pretty key player to the Sens at this point. If things are looking bleek going into the trade deadline in terms of the playoffs, then maybe you deal Kuba but even then, if the Sens have a chance you go for it with the group they have. Ottawa already has 8 picks going into this draft, getting another 3rd or worse for Kuba isn't as important to the organization as competitive and meaningful hockey.

I don't know about having Patrick O' Sullivan go to Ottawa, that would just be, well: shocking!

I think Billy "So Hot, Want To Touch The Heinie" Madison was just comparing Wolski's career arc to O'Sullivan's.

I don't want either on my team, but if I had to choose, I guess I'd take Wolski.

Why Wojtek Wolski? Explain... remember what he did to Alfie, I mean that was wrong. I would prefer Ryan Kesler to Ottawa which is impossible.

Its not short sighted. Ia m looking at the past few seasons and what his future can very well be like.

His play has dropped tremendously and continues to decrease with each passing year. With that the only thing he has been consistent with is injuries.

Do you not think that there very well could be a better player or deal within the league to take?

POS vs. Wolski is a pretty apt comparison actually. Wasn't he traded so many times because he was considered a locker room cancer as well?

I also heard that as well but wasn't entirely sure of bringing that up.

A lot of parallels between the two for sure. Just IMO though.

I'd love Bourque on this team, but unfortunately his salary could be an issue for the Melynk cap this year..

Conservative- Brian Lee to the Anaheim Ducks for a 3rd round pick

Slightly more far out- Nick Foligno to the Kings for Andrei Loktionov

Way out there- David Rundblad and Bobby Butler to the Flames for Mikael Backlund and Rene Bourque

Would rather trade Kuba tbh, but I'd be cool with that.

Possibly have Filip Kuba be traded to Minnesota Wild in exchange for Kyle Brodziak or Cal Clutterbuck, is that a good probable trade?

I'm just saying Lee isn't going to fetch a 2C back. He's a bottom-pairing guy to any team with even a dark horse shot at the Cup. If he brings something back it'll be an average forward prospect or much more likely a pick (I'd ballpark it at around a 3rd).

WAAH?

Unless we're including a 1st (possibly 2) Clutterbuck isn't going anywhere, and isn't Brodziak leading the Wild in scoring (goals) right now?

Minny is 1st in the West, this trade makes no sense.

Same goes for Bourque for Lee, unless we're including Michalek and/or a couple firsts, Calgary won't be trading Bourque for Lee.
