Skunked again in the chat. Apparently he enjoys answering the same questions 3 or 4 times, rather than talk about how trades might affect team chemistry
I was trying to say we were at 23 players already. Unless someone's going to IR or being sent down (Hackett only made room for Harding to come off IR) we're at the max number of players.
Yeah generally when someone's shut down indefinitely with PCS that's basically a given.
Actually no. Usually there's a 3 game wait before they're placed on IR. That's already happened at least twice this season with the Wild. If teams have the room for injured scratches, they'd rather wait 3 games and place them on IR retroactively in case of swift healing. If they put them on IR immediately, they absolutely cannot play for 3 games.
I would assume so. I thought I just saw Russo tweet something about calling up 2 players. Poor Aeros, we have like half their team up here.
So if Lats goes to IR and two players are called up, that puts us at 24 skaters. Does that mean Peters/Wellman/Almond is going back down, or is Bouchard/Koivu/Gillies/someone else going on IR as well?
Also, who's coming up? I think McIntyre is still injured. I assume that one of the players will be Taffe. Who's the other guy then? McMillan? Kassian? Foucault? I'm guessing it's a forward unless one of our D-men is injured and I've just not heard about it.
Edit: Looked at Russo's actual tweet and he says they're calling up 2 forwards, so that solves that.
He's been real good. I'm more impressed with how good he is in the defensive zone. He is so smart it's ridiculous and very rarely does he lose the battles you'd think he'd lose because of his smarts, positioning and good stick. Offensively, I don't think he'll ever be Burns. But he moves the puck real well. In the offensive zone, you'd like him to look at using his shot more, and he definitely needs to get better keeping pucks in. But he's been really, really good the last 2-3 weeks.
Working through the chat and I have to disagree with Russo about Phillips. He gains nothing by going back to Saint John next year, and he's an overager, and therefore eligible to play in Houston. The only arguments I can see for him going back to the Q are if Russo's unaware of Phillips' birthdate (he's a 92, not 93) or if there's such a log jam in Houston that he'd get fourth line minutes.

I'm leaning towards the former. I didn't know it until someone on this board told me.
There is no reason for Phillips to play 4th line minutes in Houston. Looking at that roster, Phillips looked better than a good portion of them from the training camp earlier this year, and he'll be better next season.
Larsson and Phillips should provide a good 1-2 punch in Houston next year, IMO.

I'm just guessing that if PCS is a concern, no way in hell they even let him play any of the next three games.
