It's actually a week, I thought it was three games, but it's seven days. It sounds like in this case he will go directly to IR, but in general it's not a question of allowing him to play. Players are injured scratched but not sent to IR because that allows for immediate recall if/when they're healthy. For example, Bouchard wasn't placed on IR after Winnipeg because if he were, he wouldn't be eligible to play again until next Wednesday, regardless of health. As it turns out, there's still a chance he goes to IR, but unless they're certain he'll be out until Christmas, they won't assign him to it until Tuesday's Calgary game.

I really want the Wild to get a Winter classic, just so I can see a 24/7 with the Wild.

According to sources, Casey Wellman suffered a wrist injury Tuesday when he was slashed in Winnipeg. During warmups Wednesday, he tried to grip his stick and was unable to. He was pulled from the lineup, which was the reason he didn’t play against Chicago.
Add Wellman to the Wild's long injury list

Well at least, it's not a concussion.

Well... now at least it makes sense why he wasn't in the lineup vs the Hawks when he's been playing so damned well.

Jesus tapdancing Christ, were dropping like flies.

Soon its going to be easier telling people who is healthy rather than who is injured.

Exactly but Russo said he was healthy scratch yesterday.

Now, we have the real reason.

And don't forget that Cullen was sick....and I can't remember where I heard it last night in the media, but as you can guess, it may be running through the team.

I get how IR works and why you might wait a few games and do it retroactively if you're not sure they're going to need to be out that long. I just assume the team isn't going to let him think about coming back for way longer than a week. No matter how good he says he feels, when he pushed himself to come back early like that and had PCS flare up in two games, I would have to think they'd shut him down for a while without really even worrying how he says he feels.

Poor Heatley, they might want him to pick up some players at the airport just to get to know their names now...

"Uh, who is this on my left wing?"

"That's the guy that drives the Zamboni."

"Okay, on my right?"

"We don't know. We found him playing some pond hockey..."

Indeed! I get wet when thinking about WC and 24/7 maybe happening to us next year, we got FBJ and maybe few other prospects in the squad and oh as we're talking about a future season Parise!!!1 And not to speak about wanting to see some more of Yeo's genius than in

Btw. Bryz got my respect points from that episode, I've recently wondered exactly same thing he was speaking about, and I've looked into universe's birth etc.

All signs point to Koivu being back by Saturday, so I'm not worried about the first line (Taffe-Koivu-Heater). The Wellman injury is concerning though. If Bouchard comes back, our second line is Butch-Cullen-? I guess it could be Clutterbuck with the third line reunited and Gillies-Almond-Staubitz on the fourth. If Butch isn't good to go, and neither is Wellman (again, who's going to IR to make room for the second call up?) that second line looks pretty grim.

At least our defense is healthy?

I would think Butch would be back if he has no symptoms. I'd be surprised if he did. I think it's "just" a busted nose. He'll rock the cage.

Koivu I'm guessing 50-50...if it's the least bit serious take him out. Don't want a player aggravating a hammy and limping all year long.

Wellman if his wrist is bad IMO sit him until it heals. No wrist = no shot = little effectiveness. Especially with those injuries they can get aggravated easily.

IMO call up Taffe and McIntyre. Two gamers that can make things happen. I liked them earlier in the year. If they have to, run several 3rd/4th lines and toss a couple skill guys in them. Yeo will beat the crap out of the other team.

I think McIntyre is still hurt. At least, I've checked the box scores of the past few Aeros games and he hasn't played since his injury.
