I think we should give Heater-Cullen-Clutterbuck a shot on saturday, and since Powe-Brodz-Johnson is our only line thats still intact, keep it together. The other two lines are the Jumble Special grab bag lines. Just throw stuff out there and see what shows promise at this point.

If you guys haven't read Souhan's latest, do it! I didn't know Houston is sitting 2nd too right now even with all the callups!

http://www.startribune.com/sports/wild/135708268.html

some quotes:

Schultz: "Everyone was so concerned about scoring when Jacques left, with generating more offense and playing a more exciting brand of hockey...ultimately, any team that wins has to play good defense and have a good defensive system. We got away from that, and you find out that you're not winning, it's not an exciting brand."

And the best:

Quote:
Tradition holds that no one should throw their jersey on the floor, or step on the team symbol embroidered in the locker room carpet. Until this year, the Wild usually covered the logo to keep it clean. This year, it's as bare as the players' suddenly-demonstrable pride.

There's speculation that Turris is about to be traded. Any chance we'll be the ones who get stuck with him? I assume not because of our well documented excess of NHL level centers.

I'm sure Fletcher knows a FRB when he sees one. Let one of the Canuck teams overpay for him.

Apparently, the Wild are a faceless franchise.

What the hell does it mean?

Holy sheit! This franchise has lost as many man games than 3top teams combined and still are hanging in there. Pretty awesome and shows how good the minnesota Wild are atm. Hopefully Koivu/bouch/seto and lats get healthy soon, but meanwhile all power for the houston aeros New York Islanders aren't the best team there is so eventho wild are definately hurt and not best represented I believe they can win them.

I do, but then wild were something like 3-3-3 and searching themselves. They might lose it, but I don't think they will give them any points without a fight.

And also I think Heatley will take more responsibility and lead the team with 1-2 points and also defensively like he has already this season.

I don't know how to take this.

My avatar should be the early FBJ saucer pass one, but obviously it isn't showing.

I removed my flag so i don't think anything is wrong with it, but who knows

PMB Skating today.

Pierre-Marc Bouchard skating this morning. He's skating as others stretching, so he's testing things. Great sign tho #mnwild

Bouchard on ice entire skate. Another good sign. Yeo joked yesterday if Butch said he could play, "I think we can find a spot for him."

Apparently people aren't looking closely at the logo - there's so many things inside the wolfbearcat.

Is it time to say that Mike Yeo is the man ? I mean look what he's done here, and where he goes success follows. I believe that once we get the younger guys in here and they get experience we will have a serious run.

Also I think we should try really hard to hang on to Harding.

I think tonight's game should be a good test of our resiliency and adaptability.

Hopefully this is the right link, I'm posting from my iPod:

Russo says Fletch has been looking to move Zanon.

not surprising, not sure he has a ton of value other than a middle round pick though.

I could see him as part of a package deal. Zanon + 2nd or 3rd could actually bring back some talent.

Also, rosters freeze in a few hours until after Christmas.

I believe the Wild are near the 50 contract limit, I think they'll take the pick rather then prospect/player but I won't lose any sleep over what happens to Zanon.

I started a Zanon thread in the trade talk section.

I thought it could be interesting to see who's willing to get him.

It means we don't have a franchise or marketable player and in some truth that is the correct assessment of the Wild franchise.

Ever since Gaborik left, we haven't had a flashy or prolific player that is marketable. Goal scoring is marketable.

Playing sound defense and being a team player not so much.

Which beautifully transits to my next point;

What is wrong with Minnesota?

I love the moves Fletcher made. I really do.

But for the life of me cannot understand why we have such an aversion to shooting the GOD DAMN PUCK.

It's like they like to cycle and pass and set it up instead of shooting. We brought in Heatley, Setoguchi. You would think they knew how to shoot the puck. And maybe get a guy like Koivu and the Butcher to shoot more.

But nope. We're still a pass first team.

I love Yeo but he needs to teach them more about shooting now than anything.
