Rules. He was drafted as a CHL player and will only be 19 next year in his 3rd CHL season.

This was not the case for Pitlick, Hamilton and Martindale this past season as they were all eligible for the AHL.

Ugly game at Rexall tonight. Big crowd though. Goalies couldn't stop anything. I was looking forward to this game to check out Colton Sissons of the Rockets, but he's been out because of a concussion.

Gernat 1A +1
Pelss good game 2 goals 1 assist +2.

Marincin has really stepped it up offensively since joining the Pats with 15 points in 18 games (he had 17 in 30 with Prince George). Anyone know if its simply because the Pats are much better, or has Marincin picked up his offensive game?

It's more so he actually has a team to play with. Prince George was and still is in last place I believe. Prince George has no offense whatsoever, decent defense, but no offense. When Marincin was traded, I think PG had like 120ish goals for, and you compare that to a team like the Oil Kings with 250+ goals for, it was certainly hard for Marincin to show numbers.

What was up with the Samulesson bit, is he following after his dad that much? I just saw the summary with a 5 minute kneeing major and a game misconduct along with a fighting major.

Also for people that watch the Oil kings often, are they really that much more penalty prone than every other team they play? Almost without exception this year they seem to come out on the short end of the stick re power plays.

I was at the game last night, and the kneeing incident happened right in front of me. It was a pretty nasty knee, which was followed by a fight where a much smaller Rockets player stepped up for his teammate, but didn't stand a chance against Samulesson, who was about twice his size.

You could have sworn it was Ulf.

Pelss was really good last night, probably the best player on the ice. He probably could have had a couple more points to be honest.

Haha. yeah, it was a nasty knee. Henrik answered the call and he beat that kid up. I wouldn't say they're penalty prone though, they can rough it up out there. Especially Lowe. He's always down to get dirty. He fought last night, but I think he lost that one. haha.

Yeah, He looked really good. That shorty was a beauty. He's had a couple of good games back 2 back now.

Gernat with an assist on a really nice goal by Peiss. Oil Kings dominated the first and I'm sure Calgary isn't counting all of there shots. Score is 1-1 and shots are 10-8 Oil Kings but the game isn't even close so far. Calgary did catch Edmonton napping in the first 4 mins and that's where thy scored

Oil Kings kill off a 4min penalty and Pelss with a assist. Pelss has been undressing Calgary this game, putting pucks through feet, out hustling and just really having a good game. Oil Kings having the better chances by far. Score is 2-1 shots 17-17.

Oil Kings finish a very boring 3rd with two empty netters in the last 1:30. Game over.

Bigos has a pretty good game tonight in a big win for Merrimack. Other than one bad turnover (that didn't lead to anything), his defense was solid. Wrecked some guys and scored on a dynamite slapper. Needs to stay out of the box though, got a matching penalty and a penalty early on. Forget what it was for, but he gets involved in the after whistle stuff too frequently. Still a solid game for him in one of Merrimack's best games of the season.

Great game at the Dome tonight. Pellss was flying all night potting an Eberle-esque goal in tight, quick hands and roof daddy and assisting on a second goal. Gernat potted an assist and played a pretty strong game. Not overly physical but a good stick.

Very impressed by Travis Ewanyk. Back from lengthy injury, the kid is a great skater, as advertised for smart defensive play and hockey IQ. Ewanyk got lots of pk minutes and was fantastic in the face off circle. I guess he was about 75% in the dot. Good height and still developing frame. Like the kid's potential.

An okay night from Reinhart but not great. Showed some physicality hitting and cross checks. Didn't see the high end passing as in his last game here. Solid instincts holding the blue line and pinching to keep the puck in.

Moroz was quiet tonight playing alongside Ewanyk. Still I like his big man game. Raw power forward with offensive upside and solid skating.

Oil Kings win 4-1 over the Hitmen. But this was a 2-1 game with 2 empty netters. One of the best games I've seen this year. Fast, skilled.

Good analyses from everyone! Thanks!

Good to see Ewanyk back. Sounds like he played a lot too.

Thanks again for the updates! Would you say that Bigos has a mean streak in him? I've heard a bit about his talents and pros/cons, but I've always had a hard time picturing his full game as a player.

We very well could early in round 2. That`s about where he`s projected to go.

Nothing wrong with drafting a 6-2 center with a good two-way game.

The Oil Kings clinched the playoffs last night.

They're selling a pass to every playoff game for $99! A bit of risk, in the event that they get upset in 4 games, but a really good deal if they make a run!

They might start the playoffs against Marincin, Davidson, and the Regina Pats.
