"Oilers will likely have to make a decision between signing Kristians Pelss and Drew Czerwonka. I'd sign Pelss" -Stauffer
Why??
Grabner would be the best comparisson to Pelss potential. Pelss has all world speed and a great shot Only problem is he is very inconsistent. But does have raw potential.

If Pelss even scores 30 goals in his NHL career, I'd be ecstatic
That being said, the kid has a lot of quality characteristics, and I won't be surprised if he carves out a decent career for himself somewhere (maybe not NHL).

I think also Bob Green commented something about Pelss reminding him of Darren Helm in junior One thing I do like about him he does not play soft. He could end up being a sleeper. Either way he was a 7th round pick
Really can't stand seeing people call Hemsky soft. He doesn't lay out huge body checks, but to call Hemsky soft... couldn't be more wrong
Hemsky played very soft this year. There were multiple times where he gave up on the play to avoid contact. Before his injuries he was very willing to take hits and get dirty.

He was also playing hurt for most of this year. He started getting engaged physically right around the time his game picked up. That's not to say the increased physical play is what turned his game around, just that it was a sign to me that he wasn't feeling the effects of the injury at that point (at least not as much anyway).

I wouldnt say he was playing hurt, more like he was playing scared. Not that I blame him after the years of abuse he has taken and multiple surgeries to repair his shoulders. Hopefully next season we see the old Hemsky back, just hope he picks his spots a little better than he did in the past.
I would say he was playing uncomfortably given that he's stated a million times that his shoulder wasn't feeling good for most of the season. Maybe not hurt, but certainly not 100% healthy.
Stockton won last night to even their 2nd rd series 1-1. Olivier Roy has a 9.41 gaa and 1.75 sav% so far in the playoffs.
That's great! Many sort of brushed Roy aside after not a great year last year, but this is a really solid season for him in the ECHL. I hope he gets a chance to be the starter or at least split the games next year in the AHL. Roy statistically was one of the top goalies in the ECHL, even in a lesser league, as a 20 year old rookie that is impressive.
I can see Hall and RNH really turning up the physical play when it matters. When these two mature more physically they won't be pushovers, Eberle is also a strong smaller guy and I wouldn't call him a pushover either. Yakupov hit a guy and broke the glass, that doesn't exactly sound like soft either.

lol. I like your post previous to the edit.
Yeah Roy has impressed me in the ECHL. Our goalie depth doesn't look as bleak as it once was. Both Roy and Bunz have been great. Too bad Bunz couldn't get into the next round.

I can see RNH having a bit of trouble in his first couple playoff series (if they're within the next couple years). Eberle will be fine, similar to Kane in that he's too smart and elusive to be knocked off his game. I think Hall with his new shoulder and Yakupov will actually embrace the physical play and dish out some big hits in the playoffs. Similar to Mike Richards in the Kings series.

When Nuge fills out he'll probably level a few guys. Great balance.
We could definitely use some size though. Hartikainen and Pitlick could be a starting point for a nice third line. Maybe put Lander in there, who isn't soft, and you might have a decent group. Jones and Eager would show up.
