My gawd, I`m sitting here by the kompooter, with a fear setting in about life with one Steve Kampfer being in the lineup if Z can`t go for a bit to go along with a Mr. Corvo, anyone else as terrified as I am about this, and if so, anyone know if someone with the PB`s plays a stay at home game that wouldn`t be overwhelmed by the NHL game??

Nope...no one in Providence worth mentioning for a call up....and that's at every position.

Not good

C`mon Spoons/Knight and Hamilton, get here soon

I was thinking about a Bodnarchuk as he`s a stay at home guy but...

Don't worry Claude is converting Trent Whitfield to defense as we speak.

Put Chara on the LTIR. A few months of mountain-climbing should have that knee right as rain in no time. Bring Suter over. Let Chara see how he feels in the playoffs. Sort out all the fuzzy math in the offseason.

only 5 games in next 17 days so hopefully if he's got some injury its limited to a 2-3 weeks; Bruins should be able to get by short term

Is this the official Chara injury watch thread?

If it is, can the title be changed please.

What do the D pairings and PP D pairings look like without Chara in the lineup?

Call up Dougie for a few games

I doubt chara will miss any significant time. He was reported to not be noticeably limping around after the game and we only have 5 games in the next 17 days. My money is on him missing not more than 2 games, he just needs to stay off it

Mark Mowers looks like he's in game shape. And after seeing him as an Analyst, I never realized that his strength was as an NHL player.

Weird sequence when he got hit. Hopefully he's day to day and that's it.

Scary.

I honesty think they switch Corvo to left side and have Seids with Boychuk, Corvo with McQuaid and Ference with Kampfer or visas versa.

The whole corps just looks scary though. This team does not have good defensive depth and there isn't anyone in Providence worth much at this point and Kampfer should be in Providence not our 7th d-man.

My hope is that Chara isn't injured that badly and won't miss more than a game or two if at all. If it looks like Chara is going to be out for a while, then the team should look for some defensive depth on the trade market. The team has the cap space at the moment.

The B's website says that he has a lower body injury but they've heard nothing else, unknown if he'll miss any games.

I hope not.. It would be pretty scary to see this team without Chara again.

Kinda puts a new outlook on our D though. We all know Chara is the backbone but now its stairing us right in the face. Maybe PC will use this opportunity to bring in a legit top 4 dman. Doubt it though... PCs more of a wait and see kinda guy more reactive then proactive. I hope charas not out too long but it makes one think what would happen if we lost him for any period of time. Get well soon Big Z.

Not too sure if people here are serious about Hamilton. It wouldn't be fair to expect him to be called up with no AHL experience. Even if it were explained that he isn't here to take Chara's spot (directly) he would put pressure on himself to do too much.
The other thing is that I would've liked to have seen the B's keep Boris Valabik for such an occasion. Besides Hamilton I don't kow if they have anyone of size in the system.

as someone with bad knees, that slo-mo replay of the knee-on-knee hit made me wince in pain. it took him a moment to get to his feet and off the ice though.

hopefully it's a just mild sprain from the hyperextension, and a little time off will be all he needs. you know it's gotta be bad when Z takes off a shift, let alone the remainder of the game.

get him a few Cokes, and hopefully he'll be back. Kampfer/Boychuk for more than 1 game would be pretty scary. How fast is Dougie's learning curve plan progressing up there in the O?

Lauri from Tacoma
