Why isn't Andre Deveaux in the NHL? The guy is actually a pretty decent hockey player, playing at about PPG in the AHL and he can play the role as a heavy weight. There's got to be a reason he's not getting 4th line minutes somewhere in the nhl.

He was good up there until he got that supension. If it wasnt for that elbow he would still be with the parent club IMO

This is the only year in the AHL he's putting up PPG numbers. Most other years he put up like .5 PPG, if I recall.

He's a bum.......many guys do well in the AHL and not in the NHL........Newbury, Deveaux, Bell........by the way all former Leafs.......Johnny Malkin Mitchell is one too...........remember Giroux, that guy freaking kills the AHL and never makes it to teh NHL
The Whale BADLY need two points tonight. Playing St. John's, who have owned them thus far this season. The team is still in first place in the division, but that's in danger, as is a spot in the playoffs. Time to turn it around with a five-game home stand.
Team looked better than they did in Springfield when I last saw them a few weekends ago, but with the lack of scoring depth they have lots to improve. No luck tonight. Few posts hit and an amazing save by the STJ goaltender to keep them off the score sheet. Wonder why Avery didn't play...
Hey Whale fans, can you give me the lowdown on Erixon? His offensive numbers in the AHL are pretty impressive, seems like he's getting significant PP time. How is he at QB'ing a PP? How's his shot? Coming out of Sweden many said he was solid defensively but his offensive skill was very much up in the air. Has his defensive game been as solid as advertised?

Haven't seen him play recently...but just saw this in an ESPN article on the top prospects in the AHL: Tim Erixon, D, New York Rangers
Erixon broke camp with the Rangers but has taken the elevator up and down between New York and Connecticut since then. When he has been in the NHL he's struggled while facing low-quality competition. While one can simply look at his numbers -- 19 points in 22 games as a 20-year-old defenseman -- and assume he's doing great, his numbers don't praise his performance enough. Erixon is logging huge minutes and playing at a very high-end level at both ends of the rink. His puck-moving skills and overall hockey sense are true plus abilities and he looks like the kind of player who will be able to play versus the opponents' better players and still keep the play flowing in his team's favor.
Erixon's main issue is he has needed to adjust to the North American physical game and get his body up to par. Once that happens, I think he'll start to fly up the Rangers' depth chart. Those who watched the World Juniors may think Brandon Gormley, Dougie Hamilton or Jonas Brodin is the best drafted defense prospect, but in my opinion it is currently Tim Erixon.
People need to give this kid some time...he should be a good one.
