THANK YOU! I'm not as pessimistic as you are about JT's inability to crack the NHL lineup until 14/15 but when I see people say he's going to be NHL ready next season it baffles me.
His stats don't jump off the page in the OHL, he was subpar at the WJC, and not impressive at Traverse city. Is he physically ready? Perhaps. But the Rangers organization has MUCH better options than JT Miller for the top 12...unless you wanna Malholtra this kid.
I think it is possible that he would make the NHL in 2013-14, but it would be later in the year, which is why I wrote calendar year 2014. But he will need at least some time in the AHL, even if it is just a couple of months like Hagelin got.
But honestly, I see Miller spending almost the while season in the AHL before getting the call up After the trading deadline... or the following season.

The news tonight is that Christian Thomas and Shane McColgan are NOT going to play. In fact they aren't even out for warmups
Eh not really...the Whale are in a playoff battle, they're trying to get in. Gernander is going to reward the guys that have been here all season that know what it takes to play in the AHL. He's not gonna plug in two undersized forwards who have never played a game in the AHL while battling for the playoffs.
Skill-wise, the Whale - Manchester game hast to be one of the worst I've ever seen... both teams brutal through and through (except the goalies, who both are playing great)...
Just got home. Disappointed I didn't get to see Christian Thomas play. Could easily sub him in for Steve Moses.
The last 10 minutes of the third period was great end to end action. Chad Johnson really returned to who he was a few weeks ago, so that was good to see. Gernander needs to find an offensive line or two that can score consistently...it's just not happening right now. I will take the two points in overtime.
Well for the regular season all lower level seats are $25. On the glass seats are $44 (absurd). You can get upper level tickets for cheaper.
I think playoff tickets are usually a few dollars more expensive, as mandated by the AHL. They do have a AAA discount if you're a member. It would probably carry over to the playoffs.
Don't order off Ticketmaster. I would just buy tickets there when you arrive. Playoff games draw like 2,000 people.

Really? That's good to know really. I hate paying those b.s ticketmaster charges.
Yeah...tickets are no problem in the playoffs. AHL are a very casual fan event. Because the playoff games aren't on a season schedule people don't come. That's at least the case for the first round or two in MOST cities. It's been like that in Hartford for a few years.
People crap in CJ like he was suppossed to be something but I think what we gave up to get him has more than been paid back. Some moves have to help take care of your AHL affiliate and he's had a few games with us too where he was good. Think they'll re-sign him?

I cannot say with complete certainty what will be done this season, however, AAA discounts in the past have only applied to regular season games.
so who is playing with who since all the kids are coming up? Yogan, McLogan, Thomas ,etc
btw can Miller and Kreider still join them when their season are done? How many more Whale games?
Yogan is hurt, the other two haven't played. Steve Moses started with Casey Wellman and Marek Hrivik last night, but that got switched around in the third period. No idea if Thomas is playing tonight, but McColgan tweeted he is starting tonight. Would imagine Thomas should be playing as well.
Miller and Kreider would definitely be welcomed. Sometimes these guys don't get here until the playoffs. The Whale season ends next weekend.

@cpt27 and @Shane18McColgan are both on the ice for warmups. My guess, both are going tonight

Whale beat Hershey 1-0 today. Good sign that they can actually beat a team seeded higher than them. They clinched a playoff spot and look primed to play Bridgeport in the first round. Could still win the division, but who knows.
Connecticut is averaging 4,545, placing them 23rd in the 30-team AHL. That's down from last year's average of 5,695 (or an average of 5,285 when you subtract the announced 21,673 from the outdoor game).
