Connecticut Whale right wing Andre Deveaux has been suspended a total of three (3) games – two as a consequence of a boarding incident in a game vs. Springfield on Jan. 7, and one as a consequence of a boarding incident in a game at Springfield on Jan. 8.
Deveaux will miss Connecticut’s games Friday (Jan. 13) and Saturday (Jan. 14) at Norfolk, and Jan. 18 at Portland.
On january 4. they said maybe next week, which was these week.
This week is two days old, "maybe this week" means he might come back some time this week. Last week MZA stated to Norwegian media "probably not this weekend, hopefully the next one".
It's the AHL - not the NHL. You won't get daily injury updates and a few days without news neither means a setback or an improvement. He might be back vs The Admirals, then again they probably won't want to rush him back.
The AHL allowed Deveaux to play in a game after his incident on the 7th was going to be reviewed.
Back to back suspension-worthy hits? Hm, I am not sure if it's proper but I almost like that...
...Seriously, Deaveux has made a decent impression on me. If this kid could build on what he has shown so far, he could become a decent bad-ass 4th line winger. Nice backup for when Rupp is hurt etc.
How has Bouchard been for you guys?
Kundratek has been a stud in Hershey and got called up yesterday.
Wondering how Bouchard has worked out since it sounded like Kundratek didn't even have a spot on your AHL team.
You are right about the depth chart, he was benched PDQ early season in favor of guys like Niemi, not really a shocker he requested a trade.
He did not perform well at Traverse city, or at camp for that matter. It seems that his future was decided by the organization on that basis.
or his play during traverse city and camp put him behind other players that outplayed him there and he asked to be traded instead of working thru it and proving he was better than those other guys.
its not like he played great and they still didn't play him to say someone didn't like him

I'm not going to argue with what you are saying there, however you don't start the season as a 5/6 D man in the AHL who then can't make the team at all to being called up to play in the NHL by another team a few months later. There maybe another example of this but something clearly was no right somewhere.
If he had the skill set he should have been persuaded to stay, you do not make it from the AHL to the NHL on work ethic alone. Again I feel that he was allowed to move on because the organization felt that he did not have the skill set needed to make it to the big league.
We got a crappy return for a decent prospect, we should've at least gotten a guy who can put up points in the AHL.
That being said, Kundratek wasn't making the NHL as a Ranger.
Whale Pack/NYR got really fleeced in that trade... F. Bouchard really looks totally lost out there... a goal every 15 games, otherwise next to nothing.
Good for Kundratek, he really wouldn't have made it far on the depth chart, too many skill guys ahead...
Kundratek's star sure fell fast nothing but good good things said about him all last year. Almost felt he was a lock for the NHL somewhere...seems that was true
Yeah, plenty of spots to go around, including the one belonging to Aaron Voros. Step right up. Maybe the Rangers will even strengthen their blueline come trade deadline.
