Of course it would be up to whoever the next coach is, but those are 2 incredibly smart coordinators who are motivators as well.
I want Cowher or Spags at head coach.

I'd LOVE norv at OC.
I'd take a look at Bill Callahan as well.

Later Tom and staff. Thanks for 2007.

Not a chance. Eagles are still alive.

True. I forgot about that last game scenario between Giants and The Boys.

Eagles get in if they win out, Giants lose to Jets then Beat Cowboys
Giants get in if they win out, and Eagles beat Cowboys
Cowboys get in with a win over the Eagles.

Is that right?

I think what will likely happen is this:

1) Giants lose to the Jets
2) Eagles beat the Cowboys
3) Cowboys beat Giants

Cowboys win at the Meadowlands, clinch in front of Mara, Coughlin and staff fired in less than a week.

Both Philly and Giants [;ay at 1pm on the last week of the season, so technically, the Cowboys may still control their own destiny before the Eagles game is decided. Basically, the Eagles might still be playing once they beat the Giants.

What tiebreak does Philly have over the Giants?

Minor tweaks.

Cowboys can beat Philly but if Giants win next week and beat Cowboys in week 17 then Giants are in and Cowboys are out since Giants have the tiebreaker over Boys. Cowboys win and Giants lose next week and Cowboys are in.

Giants can afford to lose next week but only if Philly beats Dallas. That would mean Giants win in week 17 and they are in (probably). Not sure who has a tiebreaker in case Philly and Giants are tied.

Philly needs to win both games to have a chance. They also need Cowboys to lose both games.

Confusing as hell.

Watch all 3 teams finish 8-8.

I think there is a way for both the Giants and Cowboys to get in.

Giants win out. Cowboys beat Eagles.

Giants clinch Division and Cowboys (with some help) get the Wild Card at 9-7.

Edit -- Whoops. Didnt see that Detroit owns the tiebreak after beating Dallas this season

Head to head wins is the first tie breaker. Then division record. Can anyone confirm that?

Right now Giants have a tiebreaker over Cowboys having beat them last week. They play 1 more time.

If all 3 teams finish 8-8 I think Philly will own a tiebreaker over both Giants and Cowboys.

Slim chance. I think lol.

Niners, Saints, Packers are in. Say Giants win the division.
Cowboys would be 9-7 but right now there are two 9-5 teams (Falcons and Lions). 1 of those would have to lose both games. Well since Lions hold the tiebreaker over Cowboys it'd have to be Falcons to lose both. Dont know who owns the tiebreaker between Cowboys and Falcons.

Yep, that's how the tiebreakers work.

Eagles get in if they win out, Giants lose to the Jets, and the Giants beat the Cowboys week 17.

Giants get in if they win out.

Cowboys get in if they win out.

Looking at the box score, can't believe JPP had 16 tackles. What a monster.

All post-game reaction seems to be unanimous, the Giants played like ****....

Rex Ryan shifting his motormouth into overdrive trying to draw attention away from yesterday.....

Quote:
Certainly we were the best team the last two years. We made the playoffs… To say a team is better than you that never made the playoffs is ridiculous. Clearly we were the better team my first two years here. We get to prove it on Saturday who the best team is this year. Quite honestly, both of us are having disappointing years…. Whoever (wins) this game is clearly the best team in New York.
As a Giant fan, I'll openly admit that what he's saying is by no means incorrect, but the rhetoric is just annoying. Why can't the guy just have a little class and keep his mouth shut for once? If he seriously believes that his team needs his antics and distractions to perform better, I don't know what to say. I know this is completely calculated on his part, but I would imagine that these stunts will eventually become stale in the locker room.

And for the record, I don't dislike Rex Ryan. I think he's a good coach and a likeable guy. I just don't understand why he goes overboard with the rhetoric. You can be an honest personality in the NFL without disrespecting your opponents.

Rex until you win something, you can't say anything.....

Sorry, but it's true. I love his passion and I am sure he is fun to play for, but the guy needs to shut-up.

Exactly. That's his whole point. I saw an article that said Rex fires shot at Giants by saying I think we are better than them. Media is looking for the soundbytes for this big game.

Pretty much. I have no issue with him opening up his mouth as I believe it diverts attention away from the players. If other teams and fans believe he should shut up and that he talks out of his ass, why pay attention to it? You're just feeding into it.

Based on this season? Possibly. The prior two seasons? Not so much. Far too early to say whether the players have gotten tired of the "shtick."

Seems like a lot of people want to play for Rex Ryan and approve of how he handles himself. I don't know if they did one this year, but last November the players picked him the coach they'd most want to play for (by a large margin).

Have they been much better or worse this year than in the previous two years under Rex? They've had their fair share of awful games prior to this year. They look like the Jets have looked under Rex. And with two games left to play, they find themselves in a familiar spot. Let's see how the last couple weeks go before we proclaim what worked for him in the past is no longer effective.

Having a reasonable opinion is not "feeding into it." I though I was pretty measured and fair with my intial reaction.

And of course I'm going to pay attention to it. It's in the local media, the same media that covers my team. Why wouldn't I have an opinion on something that's all over the local papers? It's not like anyone is going crazy here.

Not saying you in particular but there are people that do go nuts over whatever Rex says.
