Yes, but none of them have sisu. A Finn was all we were missing, I'm sure of it now!

Wild fan coming in peace.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Just kidding. But expect a lot of frustration from the missed nets, average skating and rather disappointing physical play. That being said, he is solid, hard working two-way winger.

Love this signing. The guy is feisty, and even if he can't score goals, he's scored at least 15 of them over the last four NHL seasons....so uh, I'll take that over 2 goal offensive juggernaut Shannon.

If you want to compare him directly to Bergenheim, Thor was much more physical, and had excellent board work. Mittens is all about positional defense, and plays smart. Kind of like Drew Miller defensively and in the neutral zone, and Moore in the offensive third, just going off the top of my head.

Will fit in nicely, especially on the Moore-Downie line.
Such a stupid statement. Might as well add Moore (2G), Downie (3G - only 1 EV strength), Connolly (4G), and Purcell (5G) - all who have many more minutes and games played than Shannon. They're not exactly tearing it up I would say.

Those other guys are bringing something else to the table, though. Shannon has been a pretty big liability so far outside of a few games.

There's a reason they play more games and minutes.

And are maybe the same in terms of point production given the minutes played.

Miettinen contract clearly meant to scare waiver hunters away: 2 years, $1.5 million per (pro-rated this year), $500K bonus, no-move clause.
AKA: **** off Snow.

Perhaps this addition might mean a forward going somewhere in exchange for a d-man? Maybe a Purcell for Gleason**?

**Gleason is a UFA though after the season.

AMAZING third line player. If he is to play on a lower line I can guarantee you don't have a single player of his calibre in that kind of role. Doesn't have the killer instinct to use his wrister good enough on a scoring line though.

All of the eligible teams lack secondary scoring though:

30. Columbus
29. Anaheim
28. Carolina
27. Islanders
(26. Tampa)

I'm pretty sure every team in the league is eligible to make a claim on him. It's Tampa who exposed him to it, they don't get to 'claim' him too.

Dammit Winnipeg. I like and hate you guys so much.

One of my tweets says Claude Noel is going to talk to the media shortly. They're expecting to talk about Burmistrov's injury though, so they might not even have heard yet.

I put Tampa just for reference.

Edit: It's the Jets.

I expect the "lolz nmc for khl reject" type comments to become "nice waiver claim" posts.

I wonder if he reports. Theres a big difference between signing a contract with palm trees and ending up playing in the frozen tundra.

He probably will and should, but if it were me, Id be pissed while reporting. LOL
