Well, considering it is general knowledge to think the exact opposite of any "anonymous internet posting", I'm going out to buy my Darvish Jersey and Fielder posters

Hey man I hope you're right (and as I said earlier today I've had other Rogers guys say that the Jays put in a big bid).

If I'm getting called out soon I'll be pretty damn happy

Why does your 'baseball ops' contact work at a telecom company like Rogers? Moonlighting to support a habit?

I'm not posting anymore about this (apparently the negative news makes me far less popular than the equivalent positive news), but I mean you know Rogers owns the Jays. I know you know

Do you know what baseball ops is? If you're in baseball operations you're employed by the team, not the owning company.

If your friends name isn't on this list he's not in "baseball ops"

Vice President, Baseball Operations and Assistant General Manager
Tony LaCava
Assistant General Manager
Jay Sartori
Special Assistant to the General Manager
Dana Brown

Heather Connolly
Baseball Information Analyst
Joe Sheehan
Executive Assistant to the GM
Anna Coppola
Director, Team Employee Assistance Program
Ray Karesky
Director, Team Safety
Ron Sandelli
Director, Team Travel and Clubhouse Operations
Mike Shaw
Head Trainer
George Poulis

Jeff Ross
Clubhouse Manager
Kevin Malloy
Visiting Clubhouse Manager
Len Frejlich
Strength and Conditioning Coordinator
Bryan King
Video Operations
Robert Baumander
Coordinator, Advance Scouting & Video
Brian Abraham

(none of these people are employed by Rogers by the way)

I'm calling shenanigans.

Rogers wouldn't know...the only team who knows who the highest bid is the Japanese team who currently owns Darvish. AA probably doesn't even know.

I'll clarify this point because its worth clarifying.

Its not that the Jays know if they won or lost, its the Jays didn't make the outrageous bid that's being rumoured. The feeling is that someone did bid a ton of money and it wasn't them

If your friend is a Rogers telemarketer he/she works for Rogers. That does not make an insider.

Just to clarify, where was all of this "LOL you don't have a real source" when I posted this afternoon that the Jays were going to get Darvish?

Well, it'd be no surprise, it's Rogers, so.. I don't think aub is making it up; not saying the contact is right, but I doubt he'd make it up with how much he posts in here.

They certainly are Rogers employees. They are all in my Global list. It used to be called Rogers Group of Companies, now Rogers Partnerships or something. Haven't looked at my online pay cheque recently. You are wrong.

exactly, it's the best source in the world when it's good news and then it's completely ridiculous when it's bad news.

Yeh, so what. This doesn't change the fact that they are employed by Rogers right now. It's the same with any company during a sale.

Someone didn't do his pre-class homework

In the posting system, the Japanese team isn't ALLOWED to know until the bid is accepted/denied. It is designed to prevent them from trying to force players to certain teams (cough, the Mariners, cough).

I believe you have the source. I think he is likely very low on the ladder and just heard some rumor which may or may not be true.
