Going with Toronto here. Until they can figure out how to kill penalties and/or find consistent goaltending, I think they'll struggle in a tough, very even conference.
Gave some thought to Florida and Tampa Bay, as well. I could see Florida regressing after losing Garrison and Samuelsson, and I question whether Fleischmann and some of those other guys will all replicate their seasons. Also, despite winning the division, they had a -24 goal differential, and those things can end up catching up with you. I think Florida has built a very nice stable of prospects, but this could be a one step back, before two steps forward in the coming years. In Tampa's case, if Stamkos is anything short of Superman next year, I could envision a scenario where they struggle, as well. Plus, I also see Washington, Winnipeg, and Carolina being better than last season, which will likely negatively impact the Lightning and Panthers.
(Don't know how I made this a private poll. Whoops. Can mods change that, or do I?)
going ottawa...no way Karlson replicates his year...with the loss of carkner, foligno and konopka they completely lost their toughness and an entire pk unit...Michalek is a huge ?? and the goaltending is among the worst in the league
I had the Leafs at #15 in the last poll, sticking with them here at #14. Youth will be served there, but their netminding just doesn't seem up to snuff.
