Desjardins faces hearing for hit on Lepisto; UPD - fine, no suspension

Apparently Desjardins faces a hearing for his hit on Lepisto which was called boarding at the time.

I didn't see the hit, anyone got a link? How bad was it?

Was pretty much a textbook hit from behind, but wasn't bad at all... Lepisto got up right away and Desjardins was given 2 minutes.

IMO, 2 minutes was deserved, but nothing more.

At most he gets a fine. No way that's deserving of a suspension. Lepisto got pushed into the boards, but didn't hit his head or crush his leg or get injured in any way. Boarding penalty definitely, but that's it.

After taxes and escrow it's about one games pay.

Makes you feel underpaid doesnt it?

It makes me weep at how chump change $2,500 is to NHL players, even for guys making league minimum. Then you consider someone like Lecavalier, who makes $10M per year, and it just makes me want to cry even more at the injustice.

lets not even get started with football players. 16 gms a season and they make millions. 1st round picks get undeserving guaranteed money, look at Jamarcus Russell..

Roughly the average price for a used Polaris 700 RMK 151-in track snowmobile with under 2000 miles.

A real tragedy in my opinion. How many used Polaris 700 RMK 151-in track snowmobiles with under 2000 miles does the NHL widows-and-orphans fund really need?

I stand with my fists upright. Solidarity with Desjardins. Injustice acknowledged.

We are definitely unjustly deprived of a Polaris 700 RMK.

Gawd bless the 700cc-ers.

I remember about 10 years ago with one of the high paid baseball players (can't remember which one) they calculated how much he got paid per HR, Hit, AB, and number of time he scratched his crotch. All were ridiculous sums of money.

I saw the hit and he definitely deserved the fine, although it wasn't a big one. I'm A LITTLE surprised that with the way Shanahan's running the show that he didn't get a 1 or 2 games suspension. Like I said I'm only surprised because of Shanahan not because I think it was a filthy hit even though it wasn't clean.

But yeah you guys are right even for Desjardins $2500 is nothing man, lol.
