For those wanting to hear from the other side, here is the Jets audio following practice. Will have the Wild audio up soon.

There is no such thing as "just another day at work" with the Wild, is there? Well I guess this is their way of evening the odds for their opponents so they wouldn't dominate the NHL completely. No fun in that.

Is that the Suomi machine gun? Looks like it. That, or it's the auto shotgun.

Yeo help us all if that's an auto shotgun. Big bear riding a shark and holding an auto shotgun? ......

Ya, pretty sure that's a Tommy Gun. Dillinger would be proud.

Wonder how long they'll role Lats in a 4th line role... Hopefully he isn't too rusty. Would just prefer to bump him back up to the second line and have Wellman center he and Butch.

Heatley is an important part of your franchise's history. I would assume he gets the boo birds.

GopherState it has been my experience that most Winnipeg based Jets fans don't have an emotional connection to the Thrasher history. The only history local people seem to been connected to is the Jets 1.0 years for better or worse (usually the latter )

For instance when Teemu Selanne plays this Saturday night our building will go crazy. Next to our home opener it is the hottest Jets game ticket this year by far. Teemu is a god in this town and he will be welcomed home like a conquering hero!!

Some of our former Thrasher fans who have stayed with the team might feel differently but it seems like the history is still a bit painful for them.

IMHO the only place people in Winnipeg seem connected to the Thrasher history is in and around Dan Snyder's legacy. I don't think anyone quite knows how but we all want to make sure Dan's memory is honored and that we pick up the torch. The way the Snyder parents and family handled the tragedy with such grace and compassion was both heart wrenching and awe inspiring at the same time. Personally I found it very humbling to see people that are so strong and it makes me realize I have a long way to go to become the best version of myself.

IMO, our 1st line is finally being set up how it should be:

Latendresse - Koivu - Heatley

It's rife with potential chemistry.

Hopefully we'll see a 2nd line of:

Setoguchi - Cullen - Bouchard when everyone is healthy.

I assumed he was being bumped up to 1st line since Setoguchi is injured.

Is that kind of like Hemsky's healthy shoulder?

If Lats is going to the fourth line at all, who's playing center? Gillies?

I imagine we'll probably see a mixed up first, but as long as Gui looks like he's doing well, we should see Clutter back on the third and Powe centering the fourth.

Edit: I assume you're going off Russo's tweet, but I think "will ease him back in, won't be a true fourth liner" means we'll see a bit of rotation. Specifically, Gui and Clutter will share top line duties. Clutter and Powe will share third line. Powe and Lats will both spend some time on the fourth line. At least, that's my interpretation.

On one hand, I'm glad you spent the time and energy to write that. On the other, the point I made was missed.

According to Russo Almond will center the 2nd line tonight. So we are looking at:

Clutterbuck-Koivu-Heatley
PMB-Almond-Wellman
Johnson-Brodziak-Powe
Gillies-Staubitz-Latendresse

Yeo probably won't rush Lats into a lot of minutes tonight. But, we'll probably seem him move to the 2nd line a couple of time because PMB and Wellman can play center as well. Also, Lats will probably be on the 2nd PP unit. So we'll be able to see him back, but in only opportunistic situations I assume. I am intrigued to see how Almond handles that 2nd line tonight. Obviously, we cannot assume that they have as much chemistry as they do with Cullen, but ya never know. We shall see come game time.

Go Wild, keep it rollin'

Russo says Cullen is out tonight with the flu. Lats is back in the lineup on the 4th line, Almond is moving up to center Bouchard and Wellman.

Interesting to see Almond on the second line, I guess they don't want to break up that third line?

Just shows how much that third line is factoring into our game.

Looks like we're going to bypass that pesky 5th page before game time, eh?

We'll fly through it like the Delta hub in Atlanta. Everything goes through that airport.

Unfortunately that'll just make page 10 and 12 appear sooner.

I dunno...

I think I'd rather us lose this one (in OT?) than do some Thrashy thrashin'. That way, we'd still get a point and still come back tomorrow night (on National TV) with a chip on our shoulders...

/shrug

Part of me would rather even get blown out tonight, so that we come back tomorrow night all pissed off and everyone in beast mode...

Minnesota Wild post-practice audio

Had a chance to scrum with Mikko Koivu and Dany Heatley following the Wild practice.
