This is potentially the best Jets picture I've seen to date.

This just wreaks of "I'll meet you at the monkey bars for a fight at recess".

My guess is it's right before they head off the ice after warm-ups, they probably play a bit of a game here at the end in the form of someone tossing the puck on net from the blueline, and we'll see which player bangs it home.

Or something like that.

Great picture Tom!

The Sun reported that Buff and Antro are "questionable" tonight.

If Buff can't go, do they throw in Kulda and use up his last game before waiver exemption? I have to wonder why we are keeping him around if he's dangling right around the games played mark to lose it.

I love that Wellwood, of all people, looks like the HBIC in that picture. Awesome.

This is the end of a 4 game grouping that has seen us face the three best teams in the league in November. Boston, Detroit, and Minnesota with some red meat thrown in to chow on (the Canes). If we could get a win tonight and end the Wild's road winning streak this will have been a really impressive mini run (no pun intended) within our larger run. This will be very tough though the Wild have been getting on teams early and often on road. This game is probably a bit tougher than the Bruins game in the sense that the Wild will be rested (Bruins were back to back) and are currently the best team in the NHL.

Noel had a nice interview yesterday and within the interview he addressed his coaching match up with Mike Yeo last year when Yeo was coaching Houston. Sounds like coach Claude has a healthy level of respect and also is familiar with his system. Claude said last year his team keeps it really simple end execute very well

I predict that Winnipeg wins 4-0.

Can someone boo Heatley for me?

Will be an interesting game to watch because the Wild relies on a game system than from individual plays, The Jets on the other hand are transitioning from loose individual plays to a system as well. This game will be more of a battle between systems. It's Noel verses Yao. I predict a low scoring game.

Yeah, the Wild will always have the stigma of being a "boring" hockey team from the years under Lemaire. And even then, I think that's just a lazy characterization. Those Wild teams weren't boring, unless you consider "boring" to a very smart and methodical brand of hockey. I consider boring hockey to be clutch and grab stuff, and the Wild were anything but a clutch and grab team prior to the lockout.

Looking forward to this game! I'll always have a bit of a soft spot for Minny as my second favourite team (uh-oh, not sure I want to open that can of worms up). Should be a great rivalry in the making next year.

Up and at them!

BOO HEATLEY!!!

Tonights a big game and this is where again we have a chance to show the nhl how hard it is for any team... defending champs, 1st place teams, whatever, to come into our arena and try and win. This is WPG and we will be on your best players, goalies and team! We make teams bring their A game.

We need this win boys!

Nice job Tom!

Same old same old with the Wild: I used to HATE watching them as an Oilers fan, both because of their boring style, and the fact that the Oilers never seemed to have an answer.

It must be nice to win but damn, I feel sorry for Wild fans having to watch that garbage game after game.

The Jets have to be patient. The Wild will wait for the Jets to make one mistake, score on it and then sit back and wait for them to get impatient, and strike again. It is dreadful hockey but that is what they choose to do.

Best thing to do against them is make their D turn, and hit them. Get the puck deep, get the lead.

IMHO I am just looking for a return to good play. The Jets really quit in the 3rd against the Hurricanes, and had nothing going for them in Detroit (obviously). I of course want a win tonight, but when you are playing the team with the best record in the league, that might not happen.

Nope. Watched them play a few times this year. Still boring.

You want to see exciting watch the Jets play another non trapping team. Your team is 22nd in offense.

Careful - some NSFW language, but definitely pretty funny:

I found them exciting when they had Gabby and Demitra.

In my fantasy hockey league back in 2007, I traded away Lidstrom for Gaborik and Enstrom. The first night he was available on my roster I put Gabby in the line-up, and he scores 5 goals. My trade partner was going berserk with the text messages.

Perhaps Kulda is out, if this is the game that would then force the Jets to put him on waivers in order to send him down?

I don't think Kulda has played the last couple of games. I said earlier that I wonder what the Jets are doing with him. They have to decide if they are going to play him and keep him up all year (to try to risk going through waivers again would be asinine IMO), or just send him down now to finish the season in St. John's.

There doesn't seem to be much of a point in sitting him in the pressbox if you don't have any intention of playing him, when he could be getting more experience in St. John's.

Kulda was already out for Jones, no?

Hainsey back is a great thing. Hopefully his cut is properly healed enough that it doesn't open up again. Knowing the Hains' luck (this year) he will block a shot right in the same spot again tonight. *knock on wood.

PS I was really surprised... I was talking with my regular Tuesday hockey hockey buddies and when I mentioned that we've been without our top 2 defencemen this year, they didn't believe that Hainsey was amongst them. I think it really shows how little Winnipeggers (in general) knew about this team heading in. Hainsey has only really played with this team pre-struggles so I don't think they realize what a steadying force he will be back there.

Clearly hasn't watched the Wild this year. It's ok though, you'll be very surprised on how active the Wild will be. Looking forwards to a good game. Best of luck.
