Guys, is Buff out of the line up tonight? A small debate about this in the Minny GDT thread.

The place or the team? I love visiting Minnesota but can't stand the team. All they do is play the trap, they're not even very good

Just wanna check with you guys. Do any of you seriously believe that Montreal would get offered more in a trade than we would for Kane?

I just don't see it. Not with over 30 NHL capable starters in the league. Maybe a couple of teams that desperatly needs a goalie with really high ceiling, but league wide?

Curious what you think.

Did not want to clutter up the Minnesota GDT, but I have yet to hear anything of the sort that Byfuglien is out from any legitimate source. And with how we heard about the other injuries, I would consider it very unlikely that Buff does not play tonight.

If they're talking about playing 7D, do we even HAVE 7D that are uninjured if Buff's not in the line-up? Can Kulda play if he hasn't cleared waivers yet?

K. I was just reading here how people were saying he was out. I just wanted to know if that was true or not.

If there's any time to play Buff as a forward then tonight is the night.

hahaha that has now festered its way into here lol
I have been reading that garble for two days now.

Price is top 5 goalie in the league so i would venture a guess of yes

But I dont think it would be by much

Goalies dont usually have a whole pile of value.
But with Colorado way over paying for a goalie
You never know anymore

Well, IMO Colorado's gamble makes teams even less likely to overpay for a goalie. Right now that looks like a really bad deal for them. And Varly is not a bad goalie. And they were one of those teams really desperate for a goalie.

Of course that's just my opinion. But I'm right.

I heard Buff being interviewed today sounded like he was playing, he said the injury was nothing.

Stuart - Bogosian
Hainsey - Byfuglien
Oduya - Jones
Flood

And yes Kulda could technically play today...
Interesting tidbit about that, players on waivers can play but they do not count towards the 23 man roster. So technically right now the Jets have 24 players on the roster, but assuming Kulda clears tomorrow morning, a move would have to be made then. In this case it will likely be Kulda being sent down, but it does not have to be (as the Jets fans have seen with McArdle and Stapleton) which is another misconception about waivers.

Once they've cleared waivers, they've got 30 days or ??? number of games before they have to be re-waived yes? How many games can they play?

I remember seeing a North Stars-Jets game WAAY back in the day at the funky old Winnipeg Arena, eating sandwiches at George's on Portage St., laughing at the ad on the back of the ticket (Dominion: it's mainly because of the meat), and freezing me arse off camping outside of town despite the huge bonfire we made from tree stumps.

Good to have you guys back!

By the way, I was also a huge fan of your team during their WHA heyday: Nilsson. Hedberg, Hull, Sjoberg, Lindstrom, Ketola, the other Nilsson. Great team. Jets-Fighting Saints anyone?

Once they've cleared, if they are on the pro roster for 30 days or have appeared in 10 NHL games they need to clear waivers again before being sent down.

It's a joke man, all in good fun.

I actually enjoy their board because they know the truth as to why hockey failed in Atlanta and are sympathetic with it. Classy fanbase imo.

It's hard to tell if it's all a joke or if he's serious. He does seem a wee bit miffed at Winnipeg.
