The Fighting Saints were the only WHA team that regularly outdrew the NHL team in the same city. I remember Mike Walton as their great player and they had a great goaltending tandem in John Garrett and Mike Curran. Fran Huck was another player Winnipeggers would know ... he went down there after some sort of disagreement with the Jets, as I recollect. And of course Harry Neale was coach. They kept going bankrupt halfway through the year though ... I think the fans grew tired of that.

It's a joke - remember: all of Atlanta, Minnesota, and Winnipeg have lost franchises in the past. He's having a bit of a humourous / good natured poke at it. Personally, I think they're going to be an interesting fanbase to build a rivalry with.

Just dropping by to wish you guys the best of luck as you start your new adventure in the NHL. Glad you guys got a team back...it never should have been taken from you in the first place.

Here's to some good rivalries in the future! Should be fun with both sets of fans invading each others' buildings.

Yep. It's definitely a joke....we have some fun with the GDT's over there.

Fehr shouldn't shoot any pucks in warm-up he could end up on the IR.

Hopefully it will be. Thanks for the good wishes and congratulations on having such a good season (until tonight, at least).

Here's to the rivalry between Minnesota and Winnipeg re-born in the NHL.

But, then again, I am in the JETS forum.

I have watched the Wild A LOT. I find their style to be stifling and BORING.

I wish people would stop saying that the Wild are "boring". Regardless of what style of hockey they play, it's clearly working this year and they are tops for it.

I'm not sure what the dear is about.

I consider my team actually entertaining me to be high up on the list of priorities.

Besides, I don't see any Stanley Cups in your history, so you might want to hold off on the pats on the back. The Wild's post season record doesn't exactly scream playoff success.

Why? NJ played disgustingly boring hockey for years and won cups with it. It was very effective, but terribly boring.

This is a real test for the Jets against the hottest team in the league.

If they can win this one, they can beat any team!

I've watch some Wild games this year, and they don't appear all that "boring" to me. Perhaps that was true in the past, but I just don't see it this year.

They forecheck now, sometimes even two guys in!

This is a well coached hockey team, that has bought into the system.
