Hey Duck Jet,

I understand you opinion and agree with most points, but Fowler came to the OHL in his 2nd year and was able to cope with the faster, better game. Ebert came to the O as a 16 year old and it is always a longer and more difficult process for Dmen to get used to playing in the N. Ebert will take longer to show his stuff, but will eventually become a permanent NHL dman.

Scouts will not pass up on him in the first round. No way.

Its all about fit. I believe that if Dougie Hamilton was drafted by any other team except for Boston, he would have never been sent back down to Juniorr. JMO
Ebert's situation isn't like Fowlers at all.
Fowler fell a bit because he lacked a physical game and more so because teams wanted a forward more.

Ebert will be falling far past 12th and it will be due to lack of progression this year and overall a bad year for him. He will likely go in the 2nd round now.

Matia was starting to bring back up his draft stock with a 2 goal performance vs erie but with 2 mins left in that game he lost his edge and dislocated the same shoulder that put him out for a bit of time this year, he needs surgery and is shut down for the season and the prospects game! i really feel for this kid because he was starting to come around and just hasnt gotten any breaks this year.

c: Leafs would rather take a defender over Frk.

You don't draft on need. You draft the best player available. I'd argue that Grigorenko is the BPA there anyway, but they wouldn't draft him because they need a center. They'd draft him because he's the BPA.

Not true. Ebert is still a consensus mid-first rounder.

No, pretty much everyone lists him as a 2nd rounder or late. Some say he should fall to the 4th or 5th rounds. He is way past a mid-first rounder.

Every single list I've looked at has him between 15 and 25.

Yandle is the old guy in that D group at age 25. D is set. If the pick is in the bottom half of the 1st and defensemen are far-and-away the BPAs when it's time for the Coyotes to draft, my guess is they trade down (maybe 2-3 times) to pick up extra assets. Guys I'd like to see them key on are Frk, Faksa, Gaunce, or Kosmachuk.
If the best player available when the Coyotes pick happens to be a defenseman, then they will pick a defenseman. The Coyotes, in particular, have shown that they will go BPA every time.

Where is Olli Maatta? And why is Hampus Lindholm in the 1st round? U really think he is better than Maatta?

This. Didn't ISS have him ranked 50th?

I can't remember, but i know they or most others don't have him in the top 30. JL5791 seems to think Ebert should be and that most others think so too still.

Well, your prediction that the Blues would be below the middle of the pack has gone somewhat awry thus far...

As for your selection of Teravianen at 13th overall... I'm interested in Teravanen, but nowhere near that high. A 150-pound forward would need to have a generational-class skill level to be taken that close to the top ten, and I don't see that from Taravianen.

Plus, there's no way the Blues would, in my estimation and based on my ongoing study of the Blues' organizational strengths and needs, take Teravianen at 13th with bigger and more accomplished scorers like Frk and Faksa, or defensemen like Lindholm, still on the board.

all over the place...Galchenyuk over Grigorenko now when he is injured?? Bet you if he would have picked Russia over USA to play for you wouldnt have him in top 10.
Subban , Vasilevski not in top 30 but you have O. Dansk there , and the kid is not even playing in NA and gets picked over Subban ???

Murray gets picked 2nd only if that team needs a defenceman.

I think Leafs would take Gaunce or Collberg if available
