The Ryan Callahan is awesome thread

Seriously..I love that he is our Captain, and love that he is on this team. He epitomizes what this team is and is going to be. Don't know if there is already a thread for him, but I found this shirt on the SNYRangers Blog and thought it was too cool to not open a thread and post on here!

I'm buying that for sure. At least I can wear that to work (unlike the Light that Dubi shirt). It's so awesome to see a homegrown player blossom the way you hoped and expected him to right in front of your eyes. You could see it from the first game he played with the team: he was a serious player.

Buying that shirt for Christmas. Since this is a cally thread, any chance he scores 35+, he does already have 6 and has 51 shots on net in 14 games.

Cally! He is like Girardi for offense.

Wow, I missed that he already has 6. He's been a ~20 scorer for the past few seasons, but who knows, becoming captain might spark him to increase that, especially if he continues with Richards. I think 30 is definitely possible, but would still be cautious, going from 20 to 35 is huge.

30 is not out of the realm of possibility, but I think somewhere in between 25 and 28 is more realistic. I think he can definitely hit at least 25 this year.

This is most likely to happen but if he can continue to shoot almost 5-6 shots every game, I can see his goal mark increase dramatically. Lets wait and see what happens by the 25 game mark if he hits 10-12 goals then its a defiantly possibility.

He had 23 last year in only 60 games. If he can stay healthy, he has a very good shot at 30.

Captain Cally! I love it.

He is so good. And then in this past offseason I started to doubt myself and think "Maybe Callahan was a flash in the pan. I havent seen him in the playoffs and who knows. Maybe I chalked him up too much".

Then this season? OH DAMN. I WASNT CHALKING HIM UP "ENOUGH!"

Kid has heart. Has skills. Plays like a leader. He LEADS by EXAMPLE. Doesnt shout at the players to pick up their play. He picks up HIS and the rest follow suit.

So happy we didnt trade him in the early goings like some of us were thinking. We were throwing him and or Girardi in all sorts of trade scenerios. I am Happy I AM NOT the GM and some of YOU are not the GM either.

Ryan Callahan is awesome. There I said it.

I love the way he's stepped into the role of Captain so easily. Just a gut feeling, but he'll be our best C since Mess.

Right now he's on pace for 56 points. I see him finishing between 50-60.

It's amazing how this guy just keeps improving.

To anyone who thinks he can't hit 30 goals or keep up his current 37-26-63 pace this year, the man has more or less done it already over his past 82 games.
(Nice work by Blue Blooded to pick up on this. Quoted from the Hagelin thread.)

Just keep your ankle out of the path of any more Chara slappers, will ya Ryan?
--Though I know you'd still block the shot if you had it to do over again, which is why you're the captain.

All of us love Cally, I'm sure--but god that shirt is painfully ugly.
