They've pretty much mailed it in after 4. It's what this team does most nights it sees adversity.

That'd imply at any point last year he was healthy enough to play long enough to earn that trust. I do think he should have gotten a chance in the playoffs.

Yeah. Because last year he didn't play for Caps.

I'm still laughing. His bad nights makes TVo effort tonight look ok. Stats show he has had quite a few too.

Swing and miss. He's saying the problem is not the players themselves but their effort.

Was thinking about that. They might've been better off getting right back at it. Guess DH made a mistake taking it easy. Lesson learned, hopefully.

To think I gave up rearranging my sock drawer for this.

This game has pretty much been a burn the tape thing. Out worked and outplayed for most of the night on all 200'. Move on to the next game.

Maybe they used to. I don't see that being the case today. We have just as many shots on goal. Just 0 to show for it.

The only bright spot so far in this game for me is Jagr hasn't scored. Still 7 minutes to go though.

Players who show up some of the time for whatever reason are a problem.

don't really disagree with you on the chemistry thing, but i think maybe it's simpler. i think if he's got a fault, it's that he has a hard time comprehending players not playing 100% all the time. he was such a gamer that he sees the universe that way and assumes everyone else does too. a guy like alex semin has to keep him awake at night, just mystified that someone can have that much talent and just piss it away.

frustrated. assuming things stay the same for the next 10-15 games, what happens? firing george won't change anything; they'll have to change personnel...

and frankly, i don't give a damn if it's tiresome. listening to everyone predict that boudreau's demise was all the was needed for this team to win was tiresome. actually, scratch that. the only thing that's tiresome is this team being crap. and that's not anyone's fault but the players. can't understand why people don't get that.
Great stuff....there's about 5 posters who have been fawning all over Hunter who should read this over and over. IMO, it was probably time for a change of coaches. But the core of this team is the issue. Always has been. They are weak as hell in intestinal fortitude as currently assembled. They need a core skilled leader to come in and make them play like they have a chip on their shoulders.

Yay shutout averted....
