i feel really uncomfortable with vokoun in net, reminds me of olie in his last year with the caps, basically every shot against him is a potential softy. it scares me if the goalie has trouble with easy saves.

The game looked like it was pretty fast. Is that just me or is it a fast game?

Vokoun blows it's almost indescribable how heartbreaking it is for the the players to play a good period like that and have your goalie **** the bed so hard

It's like someone is whispering the words to Gormley, and there's a delay from processing the words in his brain. Can't remember ever seeing a TV personality looking more pained in their delivery. I can't for the life of me see how this guy got a job in front of a camera.

People are still talking about that "softie."

Deflected goals screened by a defenseman are now softies.

Well, i feel sorry for Vokoun on this one. I really remember how much of pain in the ass can that sort of deflected shot be. That being said, i was never nowhere near NHL level...

On a positive note, the Caps looked very good clearing their zone under pressure. They looked extremely poised in an area they usually look foolish in. One period....baby steps.

In this game Wideman is the one who had trouble handling the puck at the point.

Anyway, Semin looks like he showed up to play, although the refs are still biased against him.
