Kirk, you have to admit its good for clearing out the sinuses. Do they make you exercise first, then take off the mask? I've done that a couple of times, and I'd have to say i've had better experiences in my life
Take care over there, and I'll be hoping for a safe return. All the best to you and your family.
Tonight was my last official game in net with my men's league.
I wish I had played a better game, but hockey and the camaraderie of skating with a good group of guys is certainly something I'll miss over there.
Anyway- I'm preparing a letter to the board that I will send when I sign off on my home computer for the last time before deploying. Keep it real, guys.
Kirk, your the best. Your one talented guy (and funny but when you were on the radio with Mick and Dupes you even had a very good radio voice). Stay safe and get back to your family (and 'us' ) healthy after achieving your mission.
I never got to really talk to you, but I felt I must add my two cents. Stay safe over there, please. As many of us have pointed out, you are a very brave man and I hope God watches over you. Good luck fighting the good fight.
I offer a sincere thanks to you and the other brave souls who are putting yourselves on the line for the rest of us. May your company find time for an impromtu shimmy in between projects. Good luck and God speed....Keep that 5-hole closed, and keep believing in what you do!
I was reading through these posts and thought I had posted, but I hadnt....Kirk, Best of luck in Iraq. I wish you the very best. I respect and enjoy your hockey knowledge from the contact we have had on this board.
Come back safe, we have an Alberts argument that we have to see who wins!
That moment has finally arrived. I'm off to the Middle East.
Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone here for contributing to a great sports community, united in passion and spirit for the Boston Bruins.
How many people here have become actual friends by getting to know one another online, and then meeting up in person at a later date? The power of the internet, and, the power of a group of people sharing the same rooting interest. Keep everything real here, folks.
I won't single anyone out. There are far too many posters- past, present and future- who would inadvertently be left out if I attempted to acknowledge each and every peson who has touched my life at some point over the past five years that I've been posting (and writing as staff) here at Hockey's Future.
I hope some of you will write me when I'm over there. firstname.lastname@example.org
I don't how often I'll be able to keep in touch, but if you take the effort to write, I *will* reply. I will also attempt to update my Iraq thread above, just as Sturminator did periodically when he was over there.
To close, thanks again for the good times. We may not all agree on things, but it is the passion and commitment that brings us back each time. Try to keep this place great.
Take care, all- and to those who PM'd me, but I haven't responded to- please forgive me. It has been a very busy couple of days, and I don't have a great deal of time to get the things done that I must between now and tomorrow am.
