Quotable"Anytime you give up four powerplay goals you're not going to win a (expletive) game, Sorry, but it's the truth." - David Steckel

"Our job is to win hockey games. Ownership issues are something that are beyond our control. I just told the players you're not going to see a difference short-term or long-term; our job is to still win hockey games. That doesn't change when an ownership interest moves or changes in percentage." – Brian Burke

"That's what we want. You want competition. People have to be on their toes all the time. That's what makes a winning team I think. For the defencemen, the forwards, whoever it is, if you're always on your toes in the practice and the games, that means you're going to improve and then that's just going to make the team better." – Jonas Gustavsson

“You can't replicate games, especially when you're out for so long and not doing anything for so long. If you're out and you're working out and you're keeping active and stuff, it's a different story. But when all you can do to fix the injury is do nothing, you get out of the loop a little bit." – James Reimer

If Kulemin doesn't get it going on Carolina he's a lost cause. I'm tired of him playing well defensively crap, enough of the excuses.

A lost cause for having a rough third of a season? He has years to rebound. He'll be fine.

Keep an eye on Brandon Sutter, that's the kind of player the Leafs could use.

Kulemin will be fine, but it is starting to annoy me how he's not scoring.

He seems to have lots of chances though, they're just not going in. Happens to the best players. Remember a few seasons ago when Mats couldn't score near the end of the year? It was all Antropov and Poni.

Why are people hoping Gustavsson starts for this game?

It's a game against the worst team in the East without their best player... Gus doesn't need a confidence boost at this point, but Reimer does, and he also needs to get his game refined, and a game against a team he's absolutely dominated as a goalie will probably do the trick.

Great pic to sum up the Leafs d-zone play-- wide open slot/top of circles for one timers leaving our goalies high and dry

Leafs bigger problem isn't not enough offense, but rather its not enough defense actually.

I agree that a loss tonight would be pretty bad overall. Losing against bottom feeders, especially when the Leafs are in a slump, would not be good at all.

No more excuses, just execute.

1st line Cs typically can play the PK too. Im not saying Sutter wouldnt help, but a 1st line C is what we truly need.
