Yeah you weren't the poster I was talking about, but the lack of patience in Larsen and Vincour is similar IMO.
I mean, I've seen the tools each of these guys have. Larsen might be the guy who compliments a big mobile defensive commander on the blueline who might not have the best puck skills. He's mobile, doesn't shy away from fighting in the corners, and has pretty damn good puck skills. He could be the dominant guy on the 2nd pair here in Dallas, but our D corps suck.
The Grossmann trade 2nd round pick will be 47th or 48th depending on the outcome of tonight's LA/SJ game and assuming the Kings get bounced in the 1st or 2nd round.
Assuming we keep pick 13 and dont trade (or somehow win the lottery).
Last 10 pick 13's
2011- Sven Baertschi
2010- Brandon Gormley
2009- Zach Kassian
2008- Colton Teubert
2007- Lars Eller
2006- Jiri Tlusty
2005- Marek Zagrapan
2004- Drew Stafford
2003- Dustin Brown
2002- Alex Semin
We've got 13th. I was really hoping we'd pick ahead of Buffalo and Washington, as they'll both probably take a center, too. At least there are 3 good ones right around there (Faksa, Gaunce, Girgensons).

Gaunce dropped to 25 in Button's recent-most rankings. Why not consider using that pick in a trade?
I don't know if he is significant or not. His rankings are the only recent-most ones available on TSN's Draftcentre.
Addendum: Saw your mock-up. I'd see if it is possible for us to swap spots with Caps. They already have Kuznetsov (C/RW) up and coming. If Faksa is what you describe him to be, then me want.

Button is a joke. He's so incredibly biased you can't even laugh at his rankings.
Faksa's the best of the group. Also, I'm assuming Kuznetsov shifts to wing, since it sounds like he might very well do that.
Pretty accurate mock LT...draft could definitely pan out that way..
Just a random thought..If we traded down 8-10 spots, could that be a big enough drop to get another 1st rounder next season
If say Gaunce or Hertl are available at around 22 or 23, we could swoop on them and look at potentially being in range to target Mckinnon/Jones in 2013..(especially as its no guarantee we wont suck next season)
2 first rounders next season could be a shot for the elite prospect talent we lack..
I doubt it, especially since next year's draft is considered stronger. Could probably only get another second rounder doing that. Not worth it.
Agree. Another 1st next year will simply be too expensive to acquire.
I doubt we'll end up with a lottery pick, but I think next year will be the worst of the 5 so far. I don't have a very good feeling about next year, but Benn, Lehtonen, Eriksson and co. are too good to let us slip that far down.
Not a big fan of Faksa. I'd prefer Girgensons or Gaunce.
Not sure why you would want Gaunce over Faksa. Faksa is bigger, better defensively, better offensively, and Gaunce only has a small edge physically. Girgensons has more offensive potential but he's a huge risk.
Faksa is our optimal pick but I doubt he reaches us.
I'd like to see us draft Timothy Bozon and Nathan Walker just so we can say we drafted 2 players developed by 2 non-traditional hockey markets (France and Australia)

The thing I hate about the CS rankings is they don't take into consideration the U-18 going on right now.
If these are accurate, it would seem that Dallas might actually have a shot at Trouba. However, he could have a great U-18 and seal a Top 10 or even Top 5 pick.
