But I really like the Hemsky for Green idea.
You're probably not going to get Mike Green for Hemsky straight up. So unless you're talking about Travis Green, I think it's best that it just stays as an annual idea.

I agree, well, except for the PRV and scoring part.

we need a star Defencman id like to get Green but i dont know if its possible.

Seems to be so hard to get that type of d man. unless they are over paid it makes it easier but still dificult.

id give up a good package for him green including some good young players like maybe even PRV.

I am not interested in Green he gets injured way to much. We have Whitney on the back end that is injured all the time.

HOw about these deals
Hemsky, Peckham for Kindl and 1st
Gagner, Potter For CHI 1st and Beach

Sign Suter as a UFA for 6.5mil per for 8yrs, front loaded
Weber sees that Suter has signed with us and knows what a great young team of fowards we have and he is interested in coming to Edm
Whitney, Gilbert, Omark, Lander for Weber- Weber signs for 11 yrs 6.5mil cap hit front loaded

We suck out this year and win the lottery but end up with the 2nd over all pick. We draft Grigorenko and he ends up being our 2nd line centreman behind RNH.
Lines for next year are
Beach; RNH; Eberle - Beach is there for his size and playing with those two will get at least 20 goals.
Hall; Grigorenko; PRV - This line with speed will be a dominating 2nd line
Smyth; Horc; Jones - They play the shut down role against all the top lines and the play the PK, no PP as the other two lines play that.
Eager; Belanger; Patrel - Provide that 4th line role that every team needs

Suter; Weber
Smid; Kindl
Sutton; Petry/Tuebert

You must admit that is a pretty sweet young team.

With the other two 1st round picks we would have I would use one for Tanner Pearson and package the other one up with a prospect for Schneider.

Seems so simple, and I mean, of course the Preds are going to lose both Suter and Weber.

Also, you don't waste a 1st round pick on Tanner Pearson.

Jakub Kindl had too look it up--there are a few Kindls running around

For me--I do see the wings trading for Hemsky and giving up their first--but I see them asking for a D-man as well--someone like Sutton or Barker

I'd hop on that if I actually thought it was available.

Let's be "reality" here. If we trade Hemsky it will probably be a similair deal to what we always see, that being 1 or possibly 2 middling prospects and a 1st round pick of a playoff bound team.

@DarrenDreger: Things are heating up on the Kyle Turris trade front. Sources indicate a deal could come down today.

Any chance Oilers are in on Turris? I would assume if it was Gagner + would be headed the other way.

Gagner has way out performed Turris, I would not be interested in Turris we have enough small players.

It would be Turris + coming back to us Gags is heating up and has consistently put up points in the NHL for the last 4 years.
Turris has barely got his feet wet.

Turris and Gormley for Gagner and a 5th would be alot closer IMO

How many points has he scored since he has been back? Why do I keep on reading that the Oilers would be stupid enough to trade Gagner+ for him.

Another ridiculous and laughable trade proposal.

What has he done in his career that the Oilers would trade Gagner+ for him? Why would the Oilers want another underacheiving forward?
