Mike Blunden called up

As per the Habs website :

http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=606368

Quote:
MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens announced Wednesday that forward Michael Blunden has been recalled from the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs.

The 24-year old right winger registered eight points (3 goals and 5 assists) in 17 games with the Bulldogs this season. Blunden added 49 shots on goal.

Blunden was first recalled by the Canadiens on October 23. He was held pointless in eight games. The 6’04’’ and 211 lbs forward served seven penalty minutes and totaled 14 hits, while averaging 5:01 of ice time per game.

The Toronto-born Blunden was acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets in return for Ryan Russell on July 7, 2011.
Travis Moen probably out for a few games.

Nice to see him back. Never deserved to be sent down because of retarded biased reffing in the NYR game.

We had a solid 4th line back when he was in the line-up. Im not expecting him to produce huge numbers, if any, but his physical presence was welcome.

I don't think he made too many errors, either.

How come we all knew it's not his fault, but not JM? (the NYR incident)

Hopfully JM plays him more than he did his last few games. He basically threw him under the bus for the officials blunder in the Rags game.

I really liked him earlier in the year. Big, hustles every shift, throws his body around and has some offensive instinct.

Hoping he does well in this call-up.

It's only so he can play Santa Claus at the Habs Xmas party.

The guy gets less time on the ice than the sweepers do.

So Martin won't go with two d-men up front ?

I am disappointed...

But I am a bit (really) disappointed that Emelin won't be back next game, though.

They even mentioned on TSN last night, that the fans were not happy that Emelin was scratched...must be Diaz's turn for the Flyers...

Never deserved to be sent down because of JM's retarded reaction to a bad call in the NYR game. JM does not support his players. Welcome back M Blunden, we need a real 4th line, help!

He's not good at anything really but he's big and hits a lot, so it could be worse. Just hope Moen isn't out long.

He did deserve to be sent down, however, because he's simply not very good.

Really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

He plays an error-free style of hockey and is the perfect candidate to plug a hole in the bottom lines. Im glad we have him back even if its for a few games.

Anybody else agrees that a 4th line of Blunden-Nokelainen-White would be amazing? I have a feeling it would click really well. One can only hope, though.

Acquiring a real 4th liner with experience would be better to complenet Noke and White.

McCormick in Buffalo. Thornburn in Winnipeg. McLeod in Colorado are the type of guys I would like to see here.

Agreed, but then it depends on what we would have to give up for that. In the meantime, its a nice start.

God I miss White.
