Then Lukas later? We can't forget about him...

If Dave's list goes down, I could see us making a move for either a 3rd 2nd round pick, or to move up in the 2nd.

There're a lot of Anton's in the league, notably Strålman, but I think this one would be the easiest to obtain. Prolly just require a 7th, plus he could replace Murphy in Charlotte

Hello Canes fans, I just had a question that I hope you guys can answer for me. I am Carolina in a mock draft game and was just offered Ryan Strome for the 8th overall pick. Would that be a trade you guys would accept. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger.

I'd definitely do it, yeah. An 8th overall pick in a crappy draft for a 5th overall pick in an above average draft who's already shown signs of panning out as a top 6 option.

The question is, why would the Isles do it?

Can't do it, who'd be our 3rd line RW? Also, he's our Compete Level.

Fine...Stewart + 3rd.

But the Isles are getting a steal on that one, or so I heard Garth Snow say.

The thing that worries me is that Johnny plays on a line on a dominant team with four cups, you think he'd be able to keep up his production playing with Chad LaRose and Tlusty?

Thanks for the input. So I traded the 8th overall+6th round pick for Ryan Strome and a 2012 3rd.I know, what a steal right. I managed to acquire the 24th overall pick by trading pick number 47 and the 3rd I got in the NYI deal. What are the needs for your prospect pool?Who would you guys want at 24 and 38?

Scoring right winger is the main need. Also, just forwards in general. Strome helps, but we need a lot more where that came from in order to be average in that department. Defense is not a need and I would only draft one if a player slipped.

Go Tom Wilson at 24 and Lukas Sutter at 38... That way you're drafting EXACTLY like JR would, but actually I like both these players and think they're the best picks for the Canes. Wilson could become our Lucic, a player-type we DESPERATELY need, and Sutter is a Sutter, so it doesn't MATTER how good he is. But seriously, he's a fast riser and should be a solid pick at 38...

Go off the board and draft Melvin Staal, a taxi driver from Sacramento. This organization values family connections.

But he would have a budget-friendly signing bonus of 20 cents...

Wouldn't surprise me if we tried to move up to get back into the 1st round and take Wilson.

That was my thinking as well. I could see JR trading the #8 for a proven player then packaging some 2nd's and/or other assets to move back late into the 1st.

Seems like Teräväinen's stock is still rising. Mckenzie talked about top 5 and it seems like Montreal is really impressed with the kid. So he might not be around at 8th pick... That'd make Faksa our likely pick.

Nah, Montréal will take someone with a crazy french name, cause in Montréal, being french is more important than being talented.

Sadly, this is true. If Griffin Reinhart's name were Jean-Gèrard Béliqúeueueue, he'd be a lock for 3rd overall.
