The twins and the canucks as a whole lack that killer instinct and fire.

I don't think I have seen the canucks play better than against chicago last year in the playoffs. Canucks play best with their backs against the wall.

I hope the twins take it as extra motivation to step up in the playoffs, and bring the cup home.
Except games 4 and 5 where the Canucks failed to show up for a single shift... But yes I hope all this motivates the team.

As we saw last year, and backed up by comments from Gillis, it's a huge distraction and takes away from providing the best situation for the team to succeed in. This team doesn't need that type of distraction.

If they win a Cup, great, play the circus game if you have to... But until then all priority should be on eliminating distractions, not being an even bigger part of the circus sideshows the league tries to create. Unfortunately the league and media are already creating distraction, but bringing them into this locker room isn't something this team needs at all.
I care more about entertainment than I care about "the team" as some kind of sacred entity. I want the entertainment of seeing behind the scenes.

I guess we'll have to disagree. Following this franchise for over 30 yrs and seeing them lose year after year and never win a Cup, winning is more important than entertainment. If I want entertaining hockey I can follow any number of the other 29 teams. I'd rather we have the most plain boring team in the league that wins a championship, then the most entertaining team in the league that can't win the Cup. We got our entertainment fix with the WCE. Now, nothing is more important than the Cup. That's why I agree with Gillis, that these kind of sideshows (HBO) is not needed for this franchise.

It won't happen as the 3rd round is the latest they can meet. Canucks Hawks 1st/2nd respectively.

After this year, the new conferences take effect.

Rounds 1 and 2 are within each conference. Round 3 is all of the conferences, and round 4 is the best of two of the conferences, which could be Vancouver and Chicago since we're in different conferences.

Ok, yeah, it hasn't been finalized yet, but that is the plan for now.

It's hard to imagine the NHL will use this as it really isolates entire audiences... at least with the East Vs West you have both sides of the continent watching...

Either way, you're right, a Canucks Hawks final would be insane.

If I had a dog with a face like Dave Bolland's, I'd shave it's butt and teach it to walk backwards.

I have to admit I'm liking the way this has taken on a life of its own and pumped up the fans.. maybe even the team for a nice long run of wins.

Dave Bolland is so ugly that when his mother dropped him off at hockey practice, she got a ticket for littering.

like NFITO stated. Cup first please.

Although I'd love to see a 24/7 thing based on the Canucks.

Better yet, if they ever win. I'd just love to see a 1 hour thing like they did on the Broad Street Bullies. Would be much better.

I think it would be ideal with how much any Canuck team that ever won a Cup would be immortalized here.

I think what Bolland said was stupid, but he was being egged on by the radio hosts. A lot of players might slip up under similar circumstances.

That said, can you imagine the outrage from around the League if Burrows or Lapierre said something similar about a Toews, Thornton or Crosby?

Ron MacLean would host a half hour special demaning immediate banishment from hockey.

Why do people have to try and look at it and analyze it from a serious standpoint. It was not intended to be serious and who cares if it doesn't stand up to "technical analysis".We are all aware of what he was implying and It was actually a pretty good quote. My god people give it a rest. Far too much thinking going on here.
