Two more points. Not the greatest game, but it was still a win. They fought pretty hard. Carle and Meszaros has stepped up their games lately, they were both good tonight. Talbot is a warrior as well.

Wish we could've had a game with less penalties though.

I didnt catch the game tonight, just got back from a final. Just saw the Cole goal, did they review it? The quality wasnt the greatest on the highlights I saw but it sure looked extremely close to the goal line

I thought Cole was their best player by far. Guess Leblanc got it since he got his first goal, and is a local boy. Desharnais was good, but not the second best player on the ice.

Fans certainly aren't making the hometown kid prove a thing...

They gave him about ten honks of the goalhorn, standing ovation and were chanting his name!

Habs fans get to pick their own 3 stars.

Leblanc plays about 5 minutes in the game and gets one of the 3 stars?

It's the Flyers' victory song as shown in 24/7. The song has written roots to the 1930s and the sampled version (female vocals) was a top five hit in the early 1960s.

Hey, it's the "every type of music that I don't like sucks" argument again.

So the day the Bruins lost to the Red Wings, NHL.com made a poll asking which team has the greatest chance of achieving a similiar run right now. Yeah the Flyers were dead last in the poll but...

You cannot really think this is a good song?!?! I don't like 20s swing, but I can appreciate talent. I'm not a fan of Celtic stuff, but some of the musicians are quite talented. This is an abortion of music.

Hey, it's the "nothing sucks because someone likes it and music is subjective" counterargument again.

Sure but how many times did the Habs get away with penalties? That one play were Jagr get tripped up, no call and a call going the other way?

#1 Where are they going to get scoring with so many of their top goal scorers from last season gone?

#2 Hartnell didn't score... trade him for Cap relief.

#3 All the changes on this team will leave the team out of sorts and cause a long adjustment period... if they will gel at all.

#4 This team is weak on the depth charts and have no young home-grown talent. That will be their downfall.

#5 They will not be able to withstand many injuries during the course of the season.

#6 Homer has destroyed a team that went to within a Game and OT of the Stanley Cup.

#7 Giroux is the entire team and his hot season is keeping them afloat.

#8 The Winter Classic and HBO 24/7 distraction will be too much for this young team.

#9 Kimmo is to old to play as he has and Carle and Mesz will bring them down when teamed with the dregs from the farm.

AND

... #10 This team is too centered around Pronger and cannot win without him.

I wouldn't listen to it if it wasn't the Flyers victory song, but I don't think it's as bad as you say it is. I get the atmosphere of the winning locker room and a catchy song. I see it no worse then a lot of music out there today.

I think Carle got picked probably because half of the voters who chose him thought Mathieu Carle was still with the Canadiens and the other half couldn't spell 'Darche'.

FWIW: Today the Flyers jumped from #6 or #8 or so in a major Power Ranking (TSN?) to the top spot based on the last week... with the knowledge that Giroux will be out a while and Prong was not returning any time soon... and received something like 5 out of the 11 first place votes.

The normal non-calls went both ways... but a no goal call is a lot bigger as far as momentum than a non-penalty call.

Just glad we won.
