Are you just speculating on the 4th line at this point?

Oy. I just hate seeing that video of Hall flying face first into the end boards. Difficult to watch. Gotta love the kid's heart, though. Like he's never even heard of quitting. I worry about the longevity of his career, tho. How can you not?

Anyway, as hard as I'll be rooting for the boys in blue, my money's on Phoenix in this one. Exactly the type of big, structured, veteran team that shuts down and owns our club at the moment.

I know what you mean

but you have to hope he modifies his game , picks his spots without lowering his intensity ... he can do it , like the video dedicated to him states : "dont underestimate what he can do "

I love games against Phoenix because even if we lose, my favorite player won. That said, I think Hallsy comes out flying and we take it 3-2

With so much days off i would hope 3-1 Oilers.

Hall will fall down due to excessive speed, do a 360 spinning on the ice, and then crash into the end boards. I'm calling it, his next injury will be self inflicted.

I almost hope it's as boring as I expect it to be so I can get a couple more hours of studying in for my last final.

PRV on the 4th line? Give me a break. Switch him with Hemsky or Jones.

We tried stuff like that, remember? And yet he still remains on the team.

I'm excited about the Corey Potter Powerplay as much as I am about Hall returning. Two major pieces of our early season PP success are back.

I just hate seeing this guy stew on our forth line. If they're not going to be giving this kid(who I'm pretty sure has had played too many games to be waived) the minutes he needs to improve and gain confidence then we need to hire a personal coach for this guy.

I can accept waiting around like we've waited for Gagner, but Gagner was playing top six minutes through most of his first few years in the NHL.

Someone can easily argue that we're a more competitive team and we need to go for the win, but we're clearly still not there yet. Hemsky isn't going to be here next year so we should be going for the win with the players we see as our future and MPS is one of those players, so he should be playing more minutes.

If Eager plays like a ***** cat that line is going to be garbage.

It has been too ****ing long. I can only imagine the excuses certain post-game radio hosts will make for the Oilers if we lose tonight.

Attended the last Oilers @ Yotes game, and I would not be betting on the Oilers tonight. The Yotes will be ready with another solid game plan thanks to Dave Tippett. There will be no time or space for the Oilers all night. Even Schlemko had like 4-5 hits in the last head to head matchup against the Oilers. Phoenix will be playing hockey the hard way, and the Oilers seem to struggle against that style of play.

Hall being back aside, they Oilers have looked terrible comming off extended breaks this year.

Wish I had more faith tonight. Who knows, the Nuge giveth and taketh as he wills. Perhaps it will be a miracle.

I see no point to putting Gagner on that 1st line other than to boost his trade value.

In a game that you anticipate to be physical, having Gagner-RNH-Eberle as your top line is stupid. They become ineffective in games like that (eg. vs CGY). Ideally you'd want Smyth on that line to balance out the strength.

Personally, I'd prefer to go back to the lines that worked for us prior to Hemsky coming back from injury (aka during our winning streak):

Hall-RNH-Eberle
Smyth-Horcoff-Jones
Gagner-Belanger-Hemsky
Petrell-Lander-Paajarvi

We lost with that lineup in Phoenix on Nov5th to end our winning streak, and tbh have been struggling since. Phoenix was all over Hall from start to finish. Split up the kids, give one or the other the chance to play against someone other than Yandle and Schlemko.
