In a game that you anticipate to be physical, having Gagner-RNH-Eberle as your top line is stupid. They become ineffective in games like that (eg. vs CGY). Ideally you'd want Smyth on that line to balance out the strength.

Personally, I'd prefer to go back to the lines that worked for us prior to Hemsky coming back from injury (aka during our winning streak):

Hall-RNH-Eberle
Smyth-Horcoff-Jones
Gagner-Belanger-Hemsky
Petrell-Lander-Paajarvi

just because those 3 are at the top of the depth chart doesn't mean they'll get the most or toughest minutes either (if renney does this right). having hall on a different line will make tippett throw out some different matchups, and spreading out the skill a little more might draw a favorable matchup somewhere else. i don't mind how it looks in the OP of the thread

It feels like it's been ages since the last Oiler game. Hopefully they're able to open it up in this one, but there's never a lot of ice in a Coyotes game.

Hopefully the return of Hall is enough to boost us against a Coyotes team that has our number, but I wouldn't count on it.

3-2 Yotes in a SO.

Given all the Turris crap that went on, I'm quite curious to see him tonight.

If Paajarvi plays and is on the fourth line, he punches Biznasty in the nose and earns a few more minutes of ice time, in that time, he gets an assist and is moved to the third line, on the third line he gets a goal (completing his gordie how hat trick) and is moved for 2 shifts to the second line.. The Nuge sets up Smyth who inadvertently bounces a puck off of Horcoff's butt and Paajarvi is sent to OK..

I have a very foggy crysal ball, but that's what I see so far.

sigh.

Paajarvi isn't punching anything except his ticket to OKC.

Smyth's play has fallen off a cliff. If Gagner and the top line doesn't do well tonight then maybe we change things up, so far they've had a great game and a poor one, we'll see what they can muster up tonight.

I'll give ya that.
In all seriousness, if he is in the line up tonight, I hope he takes a page out of Eberle/Jones' book and drives the net.

Ever since Dustin Neilson came up with we built this Smytty, Smyth hasn't done anything. Earlier this week he released a song about the Nuge....

long wait until this game. too many days for me to stew about losing to those stupid flames.
I guess the break was good to rest some of our older and also the banged up players.

I think the "good" Oilers team will come to play tonight.
4-1 edmonton.

Yeah that's what they thought last week against Carolina.

Also I went all-in with my vCash on the Oil tonight. Oilers have lost the last time times I put vCash on them, time to break this streak. Oilers aren't good at breaking streaks.

Sorry boys.

Against my better judgment, I threw 600 vcash on the Oil.

Mr.Neilson is going to end up with some sore knees if the Nuge doesn't score until late January.

I bet the people in Arizona had no idea we could do this up in Canada:

Hall is going to be flying with Hemsky tonight. Expect them both to have big games.

Phoenix use to be one of the teams Hemmer dominated to boot.
