problem is that the team seems to usually get outplayed rather badly in games where Dubnyk starts.

Not a problem with Dubnyk though. He is simply doing his job. Im OK with giving him this start b/c it means Khabi will be rested for the long term.

Faith in Renney

Tom Renney says it's simply fatigue for Khabibulin. Says he's a bit tired and they learned from overusing him last year.

Khabi is hurt. Why because Renney overplayed him and wore him out less than half way into the season in a desperate effort to win at all cost and save his job. Who cares if Khabi is rested long term, his name should not be mentioned in the same sentence as long term with regards to the Oilers.

Obviously not because if they would have learned anything they wouldnt have let it get bad enough that for him to need weeks off at a time. If he was simply tired he would have recovered by now.

a lot of posters were pissed that Dubnyk started against the BJ's 2 weeks ago playing in the "easy game" and that Khabi got the "tough" game against Calgary.

If he was injured Yann Danis would be backing Dubnyk up tonight.

no the Oilers have a history of playing injured players until they break. Calling up Danis would mean that they would have to make a decision and send someone down, that would take a month of evaluating to see who should go down first knowing the way Renney and Tambellini work.

Fatigue after a 4 day lay off? This doesn't add up.

Not sure about the "we never win in Phoenix" argument. Over .500 since the lockout.

Not really buying the Khabibulin is fatigued argument either but hiding a major injury doesn't make a lot of sense.

Hiding a minor back injury, probably.

Could be a good game to get Hemsky going too. 32 points in 26 career games vs Phoenix.
